FS Gilbert shaft

This is a 12.75 mm shaft from my J/B, and I just got it back from Andy a week ago. I had a new shaft made, so this one is up for sale.

It was cleaned, a new leather tip was put on, and the joint area was refinished. There is still some very slight blue in spots, but otherwise it's like new.

The ferrule is Andy's standard non-ivory (not sure what that is), the joint is 3/8X10, and the joint collar is the usual ebony/melamine checkered from his J/B cues.

The new shaft with a non-ivory ferrule cost me $150. I'll let this go for $90, and that includes shipping and Paypal fees.

I'm interested. If you don't mind me asking why did you have a new shaft made? I have a Gilbert JB that needs a refinish and a new shaft but I was thinking about having Andy just build a new one and match it up real nice since he'll have the butt already for refinishing. I have no idea of his turn around time though.

I wanted to go with a thicker shaft, so the new one is 13.25 mm. This was my playing cue for a while, and the original shaft was great for that.

I had the butt refinished too. I got lucky when I called because he was getting ready to spray some new cues so he just worked mine in, and I had it back in a couple of weeks.

I was just about to type "sold" and I thought that I better see if the ring work matches my cue. Too bad it doesn't. This is a good deal.

Just measured and it's 21.5 mm at the joint.

I won't be back on until this evening. I can be reached at bingdog33@yahoo.com for any questions during the day.
