I've got a 1997 Ginacue 17A that I'd like to sell. It's a five point, four veneer cue with an ebony butt sleeve and ebony points, with veneers of black/green/orange/green. I just got this cue from Singernak, so if you've seen that thread, you'll know the cue has a slight wobble.
But the "wobble" is very slight, a millimeter or less, and after talking to Ernie Gutierrez about this on Monday, it doesn't seem to be all that unusual for a compound taper cue of this age. His quote was, "What do you expect, the cue is 15 years old. Wood moves." The wobble is almost imperceptible with the shafts on and is really not all that noticeable without the shafts on. And aside from that wobble, the cue is in fantastic shape, with only three dings: one on the butt sleeve (which is visible in the second pic), one on one of the points and one on the forearm. Of these, only the one on the butt sleeve is really noticeable.
Honestly, I'd keep this cue except for the fact that a Rick Chudy cue that I've wanted for two years has come up for sale. Many of you know that I'm a big fan of Rick's work and I want this particular cue enough that I've even put both of my other Chudys up for sale to buy it. In any case here are the specs for the Gina:
Butt: 29.5 inches at 16.25 oz.
Shaft with more play: Ivory ferrule, Moori medium tip, 4.15 oz, 13.24 mm, and 29.5 inches long, with a bit of taper roll.
Shaft with less play: Ivory ferrule, Moori medium tip, 4.1 oz, 13.23 mm, and 29.5 inches long, with a bit of taper roll.
Over all, the cue is 59 inches long and 20.35 oz with one shaft and 20.4 oz with the other, and comes with the Whitten 1x2 case pictured, which is in nice condition.
Wobble aside, this is really a terrific cue. Anyone who has dealt with me knows that I like to error on the side of caution when it comes to describing cues. This one is in excellent condition with a fantastic hit, and a slight wobble that almost no one will ever notice, unless they're looking for it, and even then, it's not much.
