Hello Everyone;

In the good old days, many great players would specify their cue preference as simply being "Four Ebony Points & A Steel Joint" and this particular Gus would be just the cue they were after. The macassar ebony shows off beautiful grain in the buttsleeve and points and the veneers of Double black, lime green, and natural are one of my all time favorites from Gus. Ringwork at the joint and shaft collars are maple dashes in black phenolic. The forearm is a beautifully quilted maple. This cue was built in the early to mid 70's, It will come with an LOA from Pete Tascarella, everything rolls straight together and apart and everything is in superb condition.

Cue was refinished and had an elephant ear wrap installed perfectly. Custom JP's are also included. There are matching stacked veneers in both the buttsleeve and the JP's.

This older Gus has everything from stacked veneers (that pop btw), dash rings and full shafts. Just a great cue from a great seller with a stellar history.

full shafts? what does that mean
Typically "full" refers to shafts that are 12.7 mm or larger

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

Very good cue from a very good seller.

It should also be noted that Gus didn’t make many cues with maple that pretty as well. Less than 5% or one in 20 have figured maple that nice.

This nice ticks all the boxes for anyone looking for a top notch Gus

For about 7 years, I owned and played with one of Gus’ "Four Ebony Points & A Steel Joint" cues. It was a privilege to have been able to own that cue. I still play with the shafts that Barry made to match the butt (same dashed collars). I recommend the experience highly.

Sold to me.

Replaces the Gus cue I bought directly from Gus in 1983 for $397.50 (and sold in the mid 90’s). Still have the triangle shipping box from Gus with the COD tag still attached.

This cue will fill my Fellini just fine.
Congratulations on a spectacular acquisition!

Congrats,,, I have to ask...you have the box but what happened to the Gus cue that originally came in the box?
