Hurricane cues were made by James "Whitey" Spach until a few years ago
he's out of North Carolina I believe

the cork is a wee bit grippier than the pressed linen but it's absorbent qualities are better

Hurricane Cues were made in Charleston, SC.

"Hurricane" Tony Ellin was a player rep for them.

Another great player taken from us too early.

I saw (and played) Tony at many events since we were from the same state, and the only cue I ever remember seeing in his hands was a Meucci. I know that he was at Whitey's shop at the Bees Knees quite a bit, and they were good friends, but I don't think Tony ever used one of Whitey's cues.

I think Tony got the nickname from Hurricane Hugo that came through Charleston in the late 80s, causing almost total devistation. He and Archer were running around almost all the time then. If someone runs into Johnny, maybe they can ask. I know that Johnny enjoys reminiscing about the time he spent with Tony.
