This one was finished last year, Joey Bautista Cue, Heartwood Maple,
Brown leather wrap, Staghorn Joint and collars, Delrin Buttcap, Brass pin, Micarta Ferrules, very nice ringwork, Zeiller shaft inserts,
and that wonderful Joey Cue hit and feel.
Butt weighs in at 14.7 oz , 29 inches
Shaft #1 , 29" , 3.4oz , 12.5mm , Triangle tip
Shaft #2 , 29" , 3.4oz , 12.3mm , Crown tip
When I first recieved the cue I was curious about the wood used,
as it has 2 definite sides , especially in the forearm, one side is straight grain, the other a very dark Birdseye,
so I asked Joey some questions and this was his response,
"That's work of nature .
I have plenty of woods like that .
Funny thing is, in the old days, they consider that as wood defect .
That's a heart wood maple . It's basically from the center of a tree instead of the outside ( sap ) part.
The sap wood is the outer part of the log and is usually whiter and cleaner.
The heart wood is more colorful and harder. That forearm is cored with a straight core wood .
I also picked a stiffer shaft wood for that one b/c the owner wanted skinny shafts ." JOEY
I've tried to show this in the pics,,,,
His cues are hard to come by, and a long wait to get a new one.
This one is in exceptionally good shape, I will add more pics in acouple days or can send them to you if interested.
No trades please. David
