Early 70’s JOSS Cue. (Estimated between 73-75)

This cue is used. Very good condition. Neither of the shafts or the butt have any major dings or dents. One ivory ferrule has a minor scratch.

This cue must have had a name engraved on the butt cap at one time. Someone removed the engraving by way of what looks to have been a sanding process, which created a small hourglass effect at that one spot on the butt cap. Unnoticeable to the eye.

Original finish and wrap.

58”, Ivory joint with a 3/8-10 pin, birds-eye maple forearm with four ebony points each with four colored veneers, Irish linen wrap, ebony butt sleeve with natural birds-eye maple windows.

Two shafts with ivory ferrules. One shaft is 3.4 ounces, 12.75 mm, the other shaft is 3.2 ounces, 12.75 mm. The butt weight is 15.8 ounces.

JOSS Cue

1978 JOSS Cue.

This cue is used. Very good condition. Neither of the shafts or the butt have any major dings or dents.

This cue had been refinished and rewrapped at one time. It actually belonged to a friend, who, while using this cue, ran over 70 a couple times on me and once broke and ran a 6 pack in 9-Ball. So, it has a lot of good hits in her.

58”, piloted stainless steel joint with a 5/16-14 pin, birds-eye maple forearm with four ebony points each with four colored veneers and three mother-of-pearl dots , Irish linen wrap, ebony butt sleeve with 4 mother-of-pearl notched diamonds and 4 mother-of-pearl dots between two rosewood rings.

Two shafts with ivory ferrules. One shaft is 3.5 ounces, 12.6 mm, the other shaft is 3.3 ounces, 12.7 mm. The butt weight is 15.7 ounces.

JOSS Cue

Early/Mid 70’s JOSS Cue. (Estimated between 74-76)

This cue is used. Very good condition. Neither of the shafts have any major dings or dents. The forearm has a couple very minor dents, the butt sleeve has one noticeable dent and a surface scratch which does not appear to compromise the finish.

The cue must have had a name engraved on the butt cap at one time. Someone removed the engraving by way of what looks to have been a sanding process, which created a small hourglass effect at that one spot on the butt cap. Unnoticeable to the eye.

Original finish and wrap.

58”, Ivory joint with a 3/8-10 pin, birds-eye maple forearm with four ebony points each with four colored veneers and a mother-of-pearl notched diamond, Irish linen wrap, ebony butt sleeve with 8 rosewood windows with alternating mother-of-pearl dots and notched diamonds.

Two shafts with ivory ferrules. One shaft is 3.6 ounces, full 13 mm, the other shaft is 3.6 ounces, full 13 mm. The butt weight is 16.2 ounces.

JOSS Cue - Early / Mid 70's - pool / billiard

I cannot take any trades on these cues.

Joss Cues, such as these, were among the best playing cues made during the 70's. The cues of this period were built one at a time, as the production machines used today were nonexistant. The points and the veneers are perfect on each cue.

Top Pro's, such as Jim Rempe, Mike Sigel and Nick Varner, swore by their Joss Cues.

Many of the cues from this period are either packed away or still in use.

Each one of the cues shown, would be a very good investment.
