I just listed this on ebay:

This is an excellent player with ebony Hoppe style rings that was made by Kaisan cues (Greg Wilson of Steepleton's in Lexington, KY - Kaisan is in the blue book of cues if you're interested - here's a link with contact info: http://www.onthecheese.com/otc/cues/index.html#kentucky). He makes about a dozen or less cues nowadays, so they are rare.

As you can see, it has a georgeous birdeye grip, east india rosewood forarm, phenolic buttcap and joint collars and a matching custom joint cap. It has one shaft that it is brand new, however it has been test hit. The shaft taper is a "bender style" taper, which is all I ever use nowadays (much better than the standard pro taper IMO). The weight is about 19.5 oz. and shaft diameter is about 13 mm. I've weighed and measured it a year ago or so, but can't remember the exact specs. I can measure and weigh it again if you're interested. The tip is a brand new Triangle.

Though the cue is not signed, the pin is engraved with the word "Kaisen", which is how Greg brands all of his cues. The pin itself is the same specs that are typical of Cognoscenti custom cues.

This cue rolls straight as an arrow and plays great (note: I am a firm believer that it is the indian and not the arrow that makes the player, i.e., this cue will not turn you into a champion on its own merits!) and has only one small crack in the finish that you can not see in the pictures (though too small to see, I want full disclosure about everything I sell).

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,

- Neil

Dam sweet looking cue .. Good luck on your sale..

Thanks. I've gotten plenty of compliments on this cue over the last year or so. When I had this designed, I wanted something with quality, yet understated and tasteful. I think that this cue fit the bill nicely.

I knew Greg back in the day. I used to live in Lexington 93-95. Shot at Steepletons was a lot of action there back then Brumback, Spaeth and Favor etc. I really miss the room how time changes. I wonder what happened to Calvin. Eddie Miller and I cut our teeth on those tables.

Calvin is still around Lexington. I saw him at a tourney at Silver Cue some time bac. He owns a home remodeling business with an office on Industry Rd. He is also a Diamond dealer too, IIRC.

Eddie is still around too. I run into him at various tourneys....

jlrowe, are they having any tournaments in the Pikeville area. Is Jason still having is too??? I cant remember if Jason owns Jumpshots or bankshots??? lol I know where they are and thats what matters......

ps.......great looking cue......as long as I have known Greg I never knew he made custom cues...........good luck with your sale!!!!!

I've seen and played with this cue. It's really nice and anyone who is thinking about buying it will be very satisfied.

Is it spelled Kaizen? If it is, I love it!! Always looked for a cue that had that word engraved on it. Kaizen is a Japanese word meaning: 'Every day in every way I will get better and better'!! That should be the mantra for every pool player. Best wishes to you on your sale!

Yeah, Steepleton's at that time was the place to play in fabulous Lex-Vegas. Eddie had and (still has as far as I'm concerned) the smoothest stroke in the town. Sadly, Greg shut down the pool hall and is now selling pool tables on the right side of the building, and hot tubs and lawn furniture on the left! Oh well, must adapt with the times I suppose...

Yeah, Greg flies under the radar. He said that he only has enough time to do a few each year. Like most other pool folks, it's a labor of love with him. Thanks again for the compliments.

That's precisely the concept. Cheers...

Hey Gary, Jason owns Jumpshot, I work at Bankshot. Yeah we are having a tournament tomorrow. Starts at 1pm will be about a Grand to 1150 in it counting calcutta. You ought to try to make it. Jason has his tonight probably be about 700 dollars in his.
