Yeah.. i thought this was the purple heart cue.. this is just like the one Kent had me hit a few balls with at Valley forge.. it also had a purple heart core and it played lights out.. one of the things kent davis explained to me that he made the cue with keeping in mind, he wanted the hit to be the same weather you juiced the ball or hit it nice and soft and i will tell you what..he deffinatly made good on his word..

all of my cues have steel joints and my one mottey is ivory.. and every cue with a phenolic joint in the last year that i have hit balls with, i really didnt like.. they all didnt feel right to me.. but the cue like this one played great..
and really makes me think about buying one..

and just so everyone knows.. i am in no way associated with jazz.. i just had a chance to see his stuff in person and check it out in a first hand experience and had a chance to meet aerial carmelli and kent davis in person and they are all three great people..

chris

Thanks!

I appreciate the compliment, Chris. That is the exact cue you tried (only with a test shaft). These cues were specially commissioned for Martin at Valley Forge. I usually cut points into my cues due to the fact that the lamination work seems to warrant it. Phillip (pip9ball, I think) can also tell you how the ipe core hits. Martin should have a test cue in about a month. Good playing to all, Kent:D

Chris, we know you're not a cue shill! I'm glad that you took the time to play with a Kent Davis and Carmeli cue. If you become interested in one of the KD cues I have, please PM me. I have 3 more coming real soon, 6 more coming in near future (4 with inlays) and a demo cue. I plan to be back at VF next year and hopefull Kent and Ariel will be there again too.

I picked up a KD cue very similar to this one except it was aboyna burl. The cue hits like a dream and is consistent on a whole array of shofts. I can now confidently fire at a ball with extreme inside english and I can predict the ball path with great success. These types of shots used to drive me crazy but I am beginning to dig them. Kent is a great guy and stands behind his work. He took my cue back to the shop and turned down the shafts so they matched his playing shaft perfectly. (Free of charge, ofcourse). If anyone in the raleigh area wants to hit with one his cues, please pm me and I'll be glad to meet up with you.

LoL.. yeah.. there is so many cues that i want... and hopefully one of his and/or a Carmeli cue would be in the near future.. they are all beautiful and priced very reasonable.. have some things going on outside of the pool world that require my spending and i have a cue that i want to get refinished first.. and 1 cue that i sent out to be rrefinished that i am still waiting to get back.. so once i take care of those things.. shouldnt be too long.. i will look forward to seeing the ones with the inlays... and who knows.. something might get my visual attention(as for playability they already got me) and make me wanna get one sooner.. :)

This cue...

just sticks out in my mind. It is a beauty with very nice wood and the ringwork in the buttsleeve finishes it off nicely.

Thanks, I'll mention your feedback to Kent.
