FS: Scruggs s/p - near mint

This is one of, if not the nicest Scruggs s/p you will ever see for sale.

The finish was fading a little so I just had it refinished by Chris Nitti (I picked it up today). It has a few very minor scratches on the buttcap, other than that the butt is perfectly straight and mint.

The cue's original shaft was warped so I trashed it. I had Nitti make a new shaft from old growth timber with some of the tightest grain I have seen to date, perfectly straight with a melomine ferrule, and Hercules 2 medium hard tip.

The cue is 58 1/8" long not counting the tip and bumper (butt 29"/shaft 29 1/8"). It weighs 19.01 oz (butt 14.645 oz/shaft 4.365 oz). The shaft is 13.2 mm with a Southwest taper, the joint is 21.50 mm, and the buttcap is 32.15 mm. Thread is 5/16" x 14.

This has not been played since I got it back and will just sit in the closet if I don't sell it. I have over $500 in the cue as it sits.

I want $415 firm shipped priority mail and not interested in trades (paypal only). A lot of people here have done business with me and some know me personally if you need refs.

Merry Christmas!

Nice cue, with the recent work it sounds like someone will be getting a hitter in superb condition.

Chris - Thanks for the kind words.

Nick - The wood that was used to make the shaft was bought by Nitti from a cue maker that quit making cues in the 80's, The wood has been hanging for 20+ years and I'm sure much better quality than the original.

This cue will hit a ton I'm sure, but you are right about it not being the original shaft. This shaft wood came out of the same stock that's going on the beyond level 5 cue Chris is making for me now and the extra shaft that was made for my Kersenbrock. It's very high density rock maple.

I will include a Sniper or Moori 3 tip with it if someone doesn't like Hercules. If someone doesn't grab it today it will go in storage with the other cues in my closet :)
