FS "The Prince Of Brunei"

Meucci one-of-a -kind

> I am in NO WAY doubting the original poster in this case. However,Bob's memory must be suspect. The materials may be different, but there is a cue with this same design and inlay pattern in Memphis,I've seen it myself. Tommy D.

I am confused! Bob Meucci makes a very expensive one-of-a-kind cue for a Prince, AND he makes a second one which at some time was owned by someone in Pennsylvania, and Tommy D says he has seen the same design and inlay pattern with different materials, in Memphis. I guess I need some enlightenment. Paul Del Giudice.

Wow that's crazy i saw that cue when bob had it a sbe in 2000 . And what was told that there was 2 cues made the same way one had a flaw.
Bob made another and gave it to some prince .
But it's a great looking cue . Good luck on your sale.

Prince

Since I am unable to load a copy of the letter of provenance from Bob Meucci, here are the contents of his letter.

3/23/01

To whom it may concern,

The cue that Meucci Originals, Inc. manufactured for the Prince of Brunei was custom made at a value of $XXXXX. It was manufactured as one-of-a-kind, taking into consideration the fact that whenever we custom make a one-of-a-kind cue we always build two just in case a slight flaw appears near the end of it's construction.

In the case of this cue, we ended up with both being perfect, so one was shipped to the Crown Prince of Brunei and the only other one in existance is now owned by XXXX XXXXXX.

I consider this cue to be one of my most unique and beautiful designs constructed of birds-eye maple, ebony, ivory, very high quality abalone, gold and .999 pure silver.

Sincerely,
Bob Meucci's signature

The owner had called Mr Meucci since the beginning of this year and questioned him on the validity of his letter and his purchase of the piece on the understanding that it was what he saying it was, a one-of-a-kind cue.

The owner relayed to me that Mr Meucci was a bit insulted by the question and was extremely adament that the cue was exactly as he has stated. In fact, he said that cue should be worth at least $50,000 by now.

If this is true, I do not have an answer as to why there are other cues floating around that look like this one.

An answer could lie in the very Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Cue. I have attached pictures of this cue. There were twenty-five numbered cues distributed in the mid-90's manufactured and advertised as being the only ones of their kind. If we look a bit forward, the MTC4 and MTC5 seem to be identical. They may be in deign but, the same materials were not used in their construction. The Anniversary Cues are inlaid with real silver where as the MTC's are not.

So, quite possibly, if there are any look alikes to the Prince, is it that they do not contain the same ingrediants?

Will the real Prince, please, stand up!

I can't help but shake my head. If I count correctly, there is a cue that resembles this one in Memphis, Mr Lomax has one, the Prince has one and my friend has one. How can this be, partictularly if Mr Meucci swears to my friend in a conversation, that his is the only other one besides the Prince's cue?

The other cues may resemble this one, but they must be different in some way.

It was at that SBE Realizm had mentioned, that my friend purchased the cue. Mr Meucci, then followed up with the letter.

What is really one-of-a-kind and what is not would be nice for the owners of those cues to know.
