I believe there were, maybe, only six Ebony Petes made similar to this one. None exactly the same as the other.

This cue plays sweet. Firm, solid hit. Very little defection.

The Tad tip on the one shaft, is one of the best tips ever.

When I was doing cue repair and installing tips, I couldn't keep enough Tad's in stock.

Give this sweet heart a home. You will not be disappointed.

I have a TS sneaky that I think has similar construction, though a plain design. It plays amazing. Someone will be very happy with this cue.

To my knowledge, Tim Scruggs and Bob Frey have been friends since they were kids. When Tim left the Joss Shop to make cues on his own, Bob Frey's family had a building that Tim used and Bob helped Tim build cues. How long did Bob work with Tim? I cannot remember the time frame, although I believe he was there through the mid-80's. A good portion of Tim's cue building in his early years did include Sneaky Pete's, because they were putting food on the table. His Custom work was not quite known outside of Baltimore. So, Bob was indeed involved with Tim in cue building, including Sneaky Pete's in the late-70's / early-80's. When Bob did leave the shop, I think it was several years until he began making his own cues. I did buy a few Frey Sneaky Pete's from Wayne in the early 90's. When Tim moved his shop to Leeds Ave in 1990 or so, his attention on Custom Cues grew more prevalent and it was his staff that built the Sneaky Pete's under his direction. The shop ceased making Sneaky Pete's when Jeff left the shop in the late 90's. Bob Frey, to my knowledge, did not make Sneaky Pete's at any other time than when he worked with Tim at the butcher shop.
Simple answer, ehhh?
