May only get to visit one place... Saw recommendations for "Hollywood billiards" but it's not showing anywhere, they change names/go under? Maybe gold crown family billiards is it?

also seeing good recommendations for corner pocket. #1 priority is good equipment, don't care about action but wouldn't pass up a chance to sweat A+ level players.

Corner Pocket is a nice freindly room. They have 3 well kept heated billiard tables as well as 4 GCs and 2 over size 8 footers.
The room is owned and run by three guys. One is John Foster a solid 9ball player who is usually willing to give a little action. The room is non-smoking if that makes a difference to you.
If you would be interested, I could meet you there for some One Pocket action. I'll play for anything from $20. to $100. a game. I don't know your game but PM me if you want to talk about it.

Gold Crown Billiards is in Hollywood and you can usually find some one pocket action there. That seems to be the place to go in Broward these days now that Hollywood Billiards is closed.

In Palm Beach County there is Grover's. They don't open till 3pm but I've seen some high $ action there too, sometimes. Like anything else, right time, right place. Further north is Top Hat. Nice, clean room with tight Diamonds. Non-smoking.

Hope this helps,

Tom

Tom, sorry to have missed you, thanks for the update. I did end up going to corner pocket, they were very friendly. Tables had big pockets which I love, but sadly didn't seem to be many shooters there, maybe the counter man/owner. Saw some guys seeming to play serious but nobody ran more than 4 balls.

I shoulda messed around on the 3C tables, those are fun.
If I'm in town again I'll shoot you a message.

There are usually a number of decent three cushion players at Corner Pocket. Not as many good pool players however. I stopped in there in the early afternoon that day but things were very slow, so I took a ride over to the casino and played some poker. Turned out good for me because I won a few hundred in a couple hours.
Seems like more pool players are playing poker these days. For me I guess it is because I know I'll get played and without any hastle.

See ya around sometime. Play well.

Tom
