Not that I want to play, but just wondering. I'll be there tomorrow until Friday. I'll need to hit a casino one night, sing karaoke another (or the same), so in case I have time, I figured I'd go somewhere and hear the soothing sounds of click on click, squeakitty squeak, pop pop pop.

Well first I hope you are aware that there are no real casinos in Florida-Only slot machine and Poker Havens and the Poker is limited to $2 Im pretty sure.

Hollywood Billiards is your best bet by far in the Ft L area if you are interested in real pool. It is about 5 miles from the Ft L Airport. Take 595 West for maybe 2-3 miles- then exit to 441 South and go for another 2-3 miles. Hollywood Billiards in on the right in the blighted shopping center behind the Denny's.

As of yesterday a few players in the area for the Fl Mens Tour were at Victory Billiards in West Palm which is next to the Spearmint Rhino Strip Club just off Okeechobee Blvd. $15K was dropped there by one fella last week and that may keep a few of the players around. It is a 45 Min drive from Ft L and no way to get lost unless you are really dyslexic.

There are no real "upscale" places in the area that i know of.

I would like to know too....

I was in that area about 3 months ago . I enjoyed playing at a
place on University dr. called Classic Billiards .Its not the biggest
or plushest place but the people are cool . If you meet a girl named
Jo anne or a guy named Earl tell em Matt from Georgia said howdy .
Also went to another place up the street from there called Hot Shots
lots of women there !!! .Just thought I would throw this out there .
I am thinking of moving there in a year or two so I need all the pool
hall info I can get for that area :D

Go to Hollywood billiards tonight if you can. They have a handicapped nineball tournament that is well attended by the South Florida players. IMO its the best weekly tournament in South Florida. Expect 32+ players. Entry is $15 and the room owner handicaps most new players around an 8 or 9. Very difficult tournament to win, although Stevie Moore won last week as a 15. The number indicates the games you need to win in a match.

Just low stakes poker, bingo, slots and hookers to be found at the Hard Rock. No Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Baccarat or any of the usual table games like in Vegas.

Ft Lauderdale

Fred,
There is also a bar directly on Federal Highway, just north of Ft Lauderdale that had many pool players. Is has 7 or 8 tables. At one time, torney's each Sunday and Tuesday. Going north on Federal Highway it is on the right hand side and has a pool table/airplane painted on the outside wall clearly visible from the Highway. It did have action if you were into that.
Have fun,
Hal

One would assume that looking at it but no- It is really misrepresentation that they are called Casinos. There are no real casinos anywhere in Florida as far as i know.

Still the Hardrock draws huge crowds of people with concerts dining, whatever.

Yeah- I forgot Bingo-Oh Boy!! Add that to the list i mentioned.

PS-Dont count on the hookers either!

Hollywood Billiards

I'm there 4-5 times a week. Best pool friendly place, bar none. Margie is the owner. Action any night you want pretty much, league happening, poker Fri night at 7:30, food is good, play all day until 7 for 7 bucks, night time special is 15 bucks.

Fred, contact ARJ (formerly known as Kato) on the CCB. He lives in that area.
Although he doesn't always check the CCB, if you send him a PM, I will try to contact him in the morning and tell him to look for it.

Have a nice trip.

There is a law in FL that you can't play blackjack in casinos. What they do to get around this law is have a boat go out into international waters (10 miles off shore or something like that.) Once out there, you can play whatever you want. I know of quite a few that leave near Tampa.

I'm sorry Steve. When Fred mentioned Ft. Lauderdale, I thought of RJ first.
I think of you in Miami.
I have no concept of how close, or far, they are from each other.

You havent been there in a while maybe? Its ridiculous. Go to the poker area and take a look at the ladies who hover around that area playing position on all the winners at cards.
