Didn't really know where to post this, but here goes. I have a Joss 4 point, ss 5/16-14 joint, maple shaft cue. I am looking to get a full splice, lbm or ivory radial pin jointed, linen wrapped, laminated ld shafted cue. What can I expect for a hit ? I have heard only good things about full splices. I am seriously looking at having an Arnot F.S. with T3 shaft built. Thoughts ?

Full Splice Arnot-Q

Greetings,

A full splice cue would be an excellent choice and just about any Arnot-Q you purchase will be rock solid and will provide excellent cue ball feed back. That coupled with a low deflection T3 shaft will provide you with a high performance weapon that pockets balls with a "point and shoot" aim.

I own and play with various Arnot cues both low and high end cues and they all play just wonderful. The best player I have ever owned was a simple purple heart forearm into a bocote butt with matching trim rings.......what a monster cue that is, just exceptional. The jump break cue is a matched set and just like the player plays it breaks balls like a Kentucky mule and jumps balls like a grasshopper on steroids (sorry for the corny analogy but its true!).

Hope that helps and good luck!!!

ArnotQ

I have an ArnotQ wrapless in purple heart / BEM wrap area on order. I ordered a phenolic collared / radial pin joint as well. I based my decision on a basic model that I tried that is almost identical to the cue I ordered. I asked for some joint inlays and Arnor pointed me in the right direction. I was jumping back and forth between several makers with the same radial pinned joint but most with conventional shafts....I like low deflection performance but I hadn't tried a laminated shaft that had a solid hit (usually 314's) and was willing to go with hit and going back to an old school shaft that had a great hit and more deflection. But the T-3 shaft is the best of both worlds. See the ArnotQ threads for a detailed analysis of an ArnotQ performance. And Larry .discusses the T-3 shaft that's helpful as well.
Once I tried the AtnotQ / T-3 combination it was hands down. I preferred the Arnot in both performance , hit/feel and overall quality.....all three categories as the best compared with the other guys I was considering. Pricing included, it was a no brainer..against some solid, better known makers.

ArnotQ makes some.Great traditional full splice cues. If you'd like tobsee some of hus mist recent work with a Merry Widow / not to plain jain see the "Pulled The Trigger' / ArnotQ thread PG.2. Its a purple heart seasoned 12 full years with a great birds eye maple wrap section. The joint uses a racial pi s and double black phenolic.
His four point splices Are flawless. He recently had a rosewood / maple that was simply the best Speaker Pete I've seen. These cues with this Terminatir shaft atr simply awesome sticks. His workmanship is right there with the best.......whoever you can think of.
