In the discussions of elements for consideration in designing a custom cue, the term "full splice" comes up as being desirable.

Excuse my ignorance, but an explanation would be appreciated.

The 1st ,so called"two piece cues" were made by cutting a house cue in half & installing a joint at that location. This is basically a full splise, two piece cue. Using a full splice butt, has advantages & disadvantages. It can produce a solid hit. It probably is a stronger bond at the points where it is glued, because there is more glued surface. However more often than not it will produce a butt heavy cue. All other methods of cuemaking make it easier to make a well balanced cue. There is nothing better or worse, only different. That is my expierience & personal opinion...JER
