An experiment gone wrong but it worked out. I wanted to build
a forward weighted cue and planned on the gabon nose to be
2" longer but I cut the grooves for a different configuration so
I luckily had enough tulipwood length to save the cue. I also
didn't want any joints except the fullsplice. The white ring is
split and installed in a groove so the tulipwood is still just one
piece. I just finished the finish and banged a few balls around.
I guess it hits well, I don't know whether I got lucky or having
fewer joints made a difference.
