In the only match I could play this weekend, I needed to win to acquire our first win. I needed 5 balls to end it. My opp racks the balls and I decide to hit them a bit harder because my breaks were coming dry previous to that. I smack the balls and 6 balls drop, and cue ball lands just above the side pockets just off center. My best break ever.

I'm now a legend in my own mind.

Thanks OB Cues!!!

Congrats on the fine break AND the win. Not trying to "one up" you or anything, but in our 9-ball league last Thursday night against our team, a player made the 9-ball AND four other balls for a "9-on-the-snap" and a six point break.

I've never seen that happen in a game of One Pocket.

Just kidding. Way to go, kiddo. :)

Watch Corey Deuel play One Pocket from a couple years ago -- e.g. his DCC matches on Accu-Stats -- and you will!* :)

Good going, NewStroke! Nice to win the match with one swing of the cue. Say, concerning the APA style of playing 9-ball, whereby the person who sinks the 9-ball isn't necessarily the person who won that rack, are you allowed to shoot the balls in any order too? :p :D <-- tongue in cheek, for the humor-challenged reading this.

*Sidenote: Corey used to smash the One Pocket rack with an 8-ball-style break, trying to get the cue ball to rest against the foot rail, hoping to engage his opponent in a shooting contest. Although he did defeat Shannon Daulton in a match this way, he quickly and painfully learned this is not the way to play One Pocket.

I've heard of it. As a mater of fact, I will on occasion say to one of my regular opponents that it's time for a Corey Duel break and then slam the CB into the middle ball of the stack. And like you said, sometimes I get away with it and sometimes I don't. :)
