Here's another fun fact the crowd noise at the Garth Brooks Concert when he was performing at Metra Park in Billings MT was louder than a jet engine during take off !
Thankfully I had foam roll up ear plugs in underneath the Dave Clark headset ! And that all mic's were off or there could of been 10 deaf spot opps for the rest of his stay at Metra ha ha
I can't remember what the decibel level was but it was close to 135 - 140 decibels maybe a bit more ?

This doesn't look like Texas, but the signs are appropriate for Texas. There are expressways there with posted speed limit of 85 mph, and traffic flows commonly much higher. The congested IH45, with posted limit of 70, commonly flows 85+. I don't see a lot of enforcement.
The rule of thumb is 'if you aren't causing a problem, you're good to go'. I love it when I travel there.

I started off with a picture of the speed limit sign that I placed on the right in the picture above. The original picture is below, but I did not want to post it. It's obviously AI, as the speed limit sign is in the middle of the highway, and there is a Buc-ee's sign on the right with a Whataburger sign on the same pole. You'd never see that as Buc-ee's signs stand alone.
So, I looked for a Texas highway picture suitable for placing the silly speed limit sign. I found an article from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram entitled, "New variable speed limit signs are appearing across Texas. What to know". So, I didn't read the article nor the picture caption, I just grabbed the picture to work on it. I just went back the the article, and it's a highway in Washington. They just used it as an example of how the new variable speed limits may be displayed in Texas.
