I am interested in a Fury Cue. Is it a solid cue for the money? In addition what is the difference between an inlay and an overlay and how does it affect performance?

DM's right, an overlay is sort of a sticker on the cue to imitate inlays. An inlay is an intracite process of cutting/turning/milling different woods/stone/ivory/precious metals etc into the base wood of the cue.
I don't know anything about Fury cues though.

I have done a lot of research on fury in the last couple of weeks. Here is what I have come up with
The DL series the "cheaper" series is all 100% overlay - stickers, that will not affect your pool game unless you’re mid is on whether your cue has inlay or overlay.
The NR series is 50-50% inlay/overlay, the butt sleeve is overlay and the forearm is mostly inlay. This cue has the same joint as the DL series the True Loc© joint, I find it gives a stiffer hit with the shaft taper.
The RP series are awesome cues, they have 100% inlay. They have a Radial© Pin that gives a softer hit to the cue.
Over all Fury Cues are great cues for the money, I decided to buy a fury the RP-9. I got it for a helluva deal. I was going to get a custom cue but I liked the hit of a Fury so much I bought one instead.
