Future of cues and equipment

But if you are a professional chef or a butcher, then your knife will get consumed over time, due to the regular sharpening. So good stainless knifes that last 6 month (at most) for 30 or 40$ will be used.
Wrong and don't go saying that in public in regards to chefs using $30-$40 knives.

In the 90s I bought a Falcon JB, when they were still made in USA. I used as my main breaker for well over decade as well as my player when travelling. The shaft wood is the best quality I have ever seen, it took some beating and shaft is still smooth as silk and straight as an arrow, almost unmaintained. Still have the cue.

Shaft quality is also a major dimension how well the shaft stands the test of time and (ab)use.
Falcon was from Canada. I had a tuxedo cue from them.

We get this discussion at the pool hall all the time and I find it funny that people say we shouldn't be spending 5k on a cue when there are league players who shoot with $100 cues think the person shooing with a $200 or $300 cue is crazy. The entry level Mezz shooter complains about the 1.5k Predator shooter and then the Predator shooter complains about the guy with his 5k cue.

I had a guy tell me my 5k cue isn't necessary but he owns 6 cues together cost more than mine. The cue police people are crazy.

It happens at my cigar lounge too. I smoke cigars once a month and I smoke $100 cigars. I get shit from the regulars there and one day I told the entire room that I smoke once a month at $100 and they smoke 3 cigars daily at $15 each. I told them they are wasting money smoking shit cigars that adds up more to my $100 stick. Never heard a peep again.

I have been using the hard for a month or so. While I love no maintenance the feedback from this cue is gone. Nada. It’s a Sugartree that had good bit of feedback prior.
What I love about my cue is the lack of vibration when making a shot, it helps me to focus just on following through, I don't feel the impact with the cue ball so I just focus on a smooth and complete follow through.

We all pretty much know custom cues play no better than modern tech cues. Some are squirelly, some not, same can be said of modern cues.
If you like the idea of playing with a famous maker cues, have fun with it. None are magic bullets. Personally, I can pass on the drama involved in ordering a custom. Been there, done that.

Another reason why I don't like CF because it doesn't hit true like wood. It's juiced up. Plus different companies make their shafts differently. There's not feedback and quite dead. I can't imagine playing pool like that. You're essentially at the mercy of the company making these shafts. There is no customizing size and weight. You play with what the company tells you to play with and if you've been playing pool for a long time then you will understand how these companies are trying to get us to buy the newest and best thing.

I equate it to wood baseball bats vs aluminum baseball bats.
Becue is the 1st company to produce a full CF cue, what got me interested in the company is they are Pool players, some modern golf clubs are made with CF, Becue's goal was to bring that technology to billiards, I don't believe all CF cues are the same, they have different formulations of CF depending on the type of "hit" you are looking for, an "Aurora" front end for reducing deflection, they spent 3 years of research before releasing their first cue, if you haven't checked out their website you should , they are very responsive to their customers and I have had nothing but great interactions with them, every time I pull my cue out, everyday, and set it on the pool table before I put it together, I hear the sound of the shaft that sounds like my old David Tice cue shaft , I LOVE that sound.......
