Future way of running tournaments ...

I am in the process of trying to get and help a couple of Billiard Rooms run tournaments from a laptop PC using
the Pool Tournament Manager (from Playpool.com download) and connect the laptop to a big screen TV to display the tournament bracket results.

The Excel spreadsheet I programmed for a Crazy Board Tournament can also be used this way too.

I am looking to find someone that has done this already, and would like to collaborate with them. I am currently
talking to Sandy Chamberlain, head of TAPA (Tulsa Area Pool Assoc.), and she runs tournaments on a laptop using the Pool tournament Manager, but hasn't hooked it up to a big Screen yet.

I have located a 50' cable for $75 to connect the laptop to Big Screen, but would really like to talk to someone that has seen this or has done this.

i am a computer technition at a computer store and my main computer at home is always hooked up to a TV. It is very very easy to do. You just have to make sure that you have TV out on your laptop. If you don't you can buy a small USB device that will do it for around $50-$75. Then all you gotta do is go into your display properties -> settings -> advanced. Depending on the laptop or the usb device you buy it should be pretty easy.

Thanks ,... I am a sr. software engineer, so I am pretty familiar with what you are saying. It's just like I have never actually done it before, that's all.

I try to help the billiard rooms out as much as possible around here. Most are not knowledgable about computers except for Terry Young, who owns Rumors here. He was a software consultant and manager before starting Rumors. Plus he is a 2 time national champion in Pool. Terry developed a system for drinks, food, and big table time that registers anything with just 3 key strokes. Neat system, and he sells it to other billiard rooms if interested.
