FUZZ ON BALLS

I have new Championship Tour Edition 3030 cloth and after 5 minutes of playing all my Centennial balls have fuzz on them from the cloth. What is going on? I live in Phoenix which has virtually no humidity and I'm sure that helps static electricity build up on the rolling balls. Is there any solution? After I vacuum it's ok for a couple hours and then right back to the fuzz.

winter time very dry weather then it - celcius degrees we get little fuzz to many tables. Especially Snooker tables.. I concur Patrick, get some humidity in.

Get your eyes checked...wrong balls

Would dragging a dryer sheet on the table be a good idea? I've heard of other applications where dryer sheets are used to combat static but I don't know if they might transfer some unwanted substance to your table.

Can you post photos of the cloth install? Also the balls themselves with the fuzz you refer to

Gotta be loose threads in the cloth? Sounds silly, but remember the old static electricity trick of rubbing a balloon on your hair creating a charge that will then have the balloon stick to the ceiling? Won't hurt...might help to play with a balloon a bit to get the loose threads? Just a wild assed guess idea...

Call Champion directly, and ask if you can speak to a Product Engineer or Technical Representative (not a basic "Customer Service" person). They are wonderful bunch of guys and very knowledgeable on all matters of fabric, and, extremely helpful.

I have never shot on their cloth - that I know of - but, when I was gathering detailed technical specs on different cloths from various manufacturers, the guys at Champion were incredible with me on the phone.

If you call them and discuss your concern with a knowledgeable person, would you please post what you learned here; including, why this occurs, and, the remedy (if any), so we all can learn?

Thanks! - GJ

It's a sign of puberty.

There's a reason I asked how the balls are cleaned. A fellow AZB'er (can't recall who) had a homemade bucket polisher with either a timer or speed controller (can't recall which) wired in. Anyway, when he wired it up, he didn't ground it which was causing the balls to have static and they were getting dusty on the table. I recommended he ground his unit and it fixed the issue.
