fyi tiger x shaft warranty

im in the process of trying to decide on a new shaft. this WAS one of the shafts i was considering. thanks for the heads up. ill go with the predator or the mcdermott.

In defense of Tony and Tiger.

I have had the Tiger X-shaft for about four years and the Tiger X-ultra for two years and I use them almost every time I play depending on which case I take out. Neither of them has warped despite being transported around the world several times.

Of course that's only two out of thousands they have sold.

We at Sterling sell Tiger shafts and we have not seen any epidemic of shafts warping in our warehouse nor have we experienced any such feedback from our customers.

And for the few times we have had some problem with a Tiger shaft Tiger has promptly taken care of the problem with no fuss.

Finally on a personal note, I have known Tony and Eli for a decade and they are two of the best people in this industry.

I would urge all of you who are on the warpath to step back here and remember that until you actually TALK to a person you can't know what they will or won't do.

Please give Tony a call and you will probably find him much more accommodating.

Sincerely,

John Barton

In all fairness my friend emailed tiger on his own to vent and ill post what the reply was from tiger..

Ray,

I just read all the treads at AZ about the X-Ultra warping. I will look in to it why suddenly there are issues according to these players. What’s interesting someone talks about it, then everyone else opens up. I always urge everyone to call, email say something to us good or bad. As far as warranty it has always been there and I think it is fair and we do lot more than most companies. When anyone has an issue, they can always call and reach a live person and not a machine recording. Sometimes the answer might not be something you want to hear, but please stop and look at it from our end at times. What’s the point of having a rule if you are going to break it. The warranty was created over a period of time and it has been working fine, never received a complaint so far about it. I urge to look around you and read anyone else’s warranty. It is never a pleasant situation, when something like this happens. People tell you stories over the phone and you have to go with that story to think what’s covered and what’s not. One of the ways to take care of it is to send the shaft for determination, if that step is not taken, how can we determine whether we can do something or not. We never promise anything unless we can deliver it, so there is no way I am going to promise someone something, if I am not sure yet. All he had to do is take that chance to say, yes I will ship it and after I look at it might have been replaced. If someone keeps playing the blame game without compromise of any kind no one wins. Like I said I don’t have anyone today that I can put on AZ to follow up. If there is anything they need, please call or email.

This is for those guys who want to stop by the Tiger booth. I welcome you, bring your shafts and bring your stories I will hear you all. Whatever you have to say, say it to my face never behind my back. As far as Corey Harper, he represented Tiger the way Tiger wanted to be represented. Please do not forget everything he was saying was created by Tiger, so nothing has changed, I want to make sure this is clear for everyone. Our company does it’s best to make a great products and remains true to make sure quality is priority. I appreciate all of your feedbacks good or bad. We listen to all your stories and will do our best to fix it or look in to it.

Production:

We actually have more in our inventory to work with. We do take longer time to cure the wood than ever. I am sorry, I can’t be at AZ all day putting treads or spending much time defending my self about all of what they are saying. I can only promise you this, I don’t think there could be a single person that can come forward look me in the eye and say I told them something and I haven’t kept my word. It is impossible and I welcome all of you guys, that want to bring their shafts to Valley Forge . I urge all of you who posted at AZ good or bad. I will personally be there to hear them. If whatever they have posted make sense, I want everyone there to hear it. Ray, I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know, I want to make sure you understand what I am saying is from the heart and has nothing against anyone. What I have wrote to you is a general information that I tell to every one over the phone, by email or face to face. If you want to post this at AZ you are welcome. The way I write might be a little rough around the edges, so please do excuse me. I just hope I got my point across and again I hope I haven’t offended anyone, because there is nothing personal here I respect all of your comments, decisions and look forward seeing you all in Valley Forge.

God Bless and Good luck!

Thank you

Tony Kalamdaryan

Honestly, what am I going to tell them that they have not heard already. Then they will tell me something that I have heard already. Point is moot. I rather just drop the shafts off, tell them they need better quality control, and then get on with my life. They did me a favor because I was considering going back to standard shafts.
It's too bad because Tiger is the only shaft I really liked out of all the aftermarket shafts out there. If they ever get it sorted out I might try them again. Everyone deserves a second chance and I believe that Tiger got something special here.

I still challenge you to find me a shaft maker with a 30 day warranty..If this thing had a toyota gas pedal on it toyota would fix it:grin:

If my shaft gas pedal gets stuck I will be sure to drop it of at the nearest Toyota dealership. At least they have a fix for that. Tiger is still working on theirs.

indy1p, did you try calling Tiger and talking with Tony, the owner?

I mean I understand that you got an email that you don't like but how about going up the food chain a little and talking to the man himself? Then if you still don't get resolution you can still come back here and tell us about it.

Bumping this thread all the time does nothing to resolve the situation.

Like I said we sell Tiger shafts all day and all night. If we had noticed them coming back for warpage then we would have either dropped Tiger shafts or gotten them to address the issue.

If you're upset because you assumed that they would cover something that they expressly say that they don't and upset because the warranty is 30 days then fine. But all that was there for you to read and research before you purchased a shaft. I mean you might not like the warranty but it is what it is and if you don't like it going in then don't buy the shaft.

People used to ask me all the time with Instroke why I only offered a written one year warranty and not a "lifetime" warranty. My answer was that I can't possibly know all the ways a person uses a cue case and that I felt that if something was going to break that was MY FAULT then it would do so in the first year of use. BUT I would add on that I wanted to know if something was wrong because then I could evaluate the situtation and see what I could do AND also see if something was a problem for more people.

Now, if I put out a case for example where I then found out later that the handles were too weak and prone to breaking I wouldn't hold a person to the one year warranty. If someone came up to me a decade later with a broken handle then I would fix it.

The point is that every business has to write a warranty that they can live with and afford. But at the same time EVERY business can and does go above and beyond what is written in certain circumstances.

It's all in the approach my man. More flies with honey and all that jazz. Believe me I have been on both ends of the customer service fence and I can tell you that it's ALL in the approach on both sides, in most cases.

nice post and they are aware of my and everyones concerns..i still dont think the warranty was 30 days when i bought it or i never would have seems like it was altered since then...
30 days that just tells me the product is junk..id rather vent here than with the people at tiger they are 100% defensive and know there is a major flaw weather they admit it or not.

Are they?

Junk? Seems kind of harsh and I have to ask why this hasn't come up on AZ before since Tiger has been doing shafts for a good five years now?

I mean I don't know what Tiger's numbers are but I know what we sell and it's a fair amount.

I just don't see a company surviving for long if they are selling "junk" at nearly the same price as the market leader's shafts cost.

So you have called Tony, the owner and he was 100% defensive?

I read the post above that you posted and what I saw was a person asking to be contacted directly about the problem so that they could discuss it.

If you want to vent rather than call him then that's your right. But as a seller of Tiger shafts I have assert my right to say that we have not experienced any ongoing issues with warpage or any other issues that would normally be associated with "junk" shafts. Therefore, while I understand your frustration, I respectfully take offense at your classification of the shafts as junk.

I am fairly certain that if you had my Tiger shaft on your cue you would not for a moment think it's junk. I have been using it for two years and it's dead straight.

This will be my last post on the subject and my last words will be to again urge you to spend the 10cts to pick up the phone and call Tony.

Best,

John Barton

Let's not get into a flame war over this.

The situation is unfortunate but it is what it is. Let's move on. I know I have.

At this point, I just stopped using Tiger shafts all together.
When I am confident in Tiger's quality again, I will definitely give them another try. I still believe Tiger has something special here and they will undoubtedly continue to improve their products.

please disclose all warrantys of all shafts you sell

If you are interested in purchasing a shaft from us then I will be more than happy to provide that information to you to aid you in your purchasing decision.

ill ask like this...any other shaft you sell besides tiger have a mere 30 day warranty? so i can exclude them from my possibilites

Actually until this thread I wasn't aware that Tiger's warranty is only 30 days.

We honor all manufacturer's warranties as well as reserve the right to do exchanges and warranty work that is above and beyond the manufacturer's warranty.

Basically though I will say it like this. We handle defective product on a case by case basis regardless of what the warranty is. If we determine that something we sold should be replaced, repaired or the purchase price refunded then we do it even if the manufacturer's warranty won't cover it.

That's the best I can tell you. It's the way we dealt with Predator shafts and the way we deal with Tiger, Fury, Blaze, Viking, etc....

We stock deep so that we can afford to take care of our customers without relying on the manufacturer.
