Anybody out there have any feedback on the G-2 tips that they would like to share? I like my Kamui black softs till they glaze over. Would like to get something similar except for the glazing.

LOVE THEM, IF GET TIP GET THE SOFT BY TIME BROKE IN THERE JUST RIGHT! NO GLAZING,MUSHROOMING ISSUES I HAVE FOUND COMPARED TO THE BIG NAME LAYERED TIPS.

G2's are awesome. I've been using the mediums
for about a year and 1/2 now. I used to use Kamui
myself, but not anymore.I would highly recommend
anyone to give the G2's a try.

I got a G2 on a Predator Z2 shaft by accident, I had been using Kamui tips for the last few years. I found them to be pretty similar. I found that I got a little better action on the cue ball with thd G2.

G2 has been the best layered tip I have had my hands on at this point.. If anyone ends up not liking our Ki-Techs I always point people to the G2 or Tom Hay's Ultra Skins... G2 on quality and performance all day long and for the price on the Ultraskins you can afford to swap those out with regularity....

Caution

The finest tip I ever had. The leather is very fine and consistent more than any other tip including the of Moori. Plays very well Soft Medium or Hard. No question the G2 probably the best tip today. The playability is perfect does not squirt the CB. It grips great. The Medium and Hard does not mushroom and dont need to be recut.

However, the G2 wears out more than any other tip I ever had. Even when you dont scuff it, it just wears down fast. Probably due to its fine material. If you dont play much it's perfect. If you play everyday you will be replacing them every 2 months.

This is my experience. I had it on 2 shafts both shafts went out quick. Same result with two other players I know of and one cue repair/ league player.

I dont mind changing my tip every 2 months in fact I would probably like that I have a new tip every 2-3 months or so and have it installed about 40% off. But I couldnt justify paying the cost of the G2 every 2 months.

Spot on, on all accounts. Very fine leather. Does not mushroom. I install over 100 tips per year. Normally cone the soft, but do not have to with G². It does not mushroom.

That said, they do wear fast. I stock Moori, Kamui, Ultiskin, you name it. What's on my cue? G² Hard.

i used a kamui black medium for along time
the soft mushroomed too much for me
ive switched to g2 now for the last 6 months
using the soft and medium
GREAT TIPS
dont get the glazing of the kamuis
tips play consistently throughout their playing life
like them more than mooriis
trying kamikaze nows will update later

I have Outsville on one cue that I really like. My cue maker had me try a clear Kamuii
soft on another cue that had a Mason Micarta ferrule and I absolutely love the combination. I play 6 to 8 hrs a week and was wondering when I should start checking for glazing?

Not doubting your word, I am curious how much time you and DanO play each day. I cannot imagine going through a G2 tip in 2 months. I don’t play as much as I did in the past. But I probably still average 10-12 hours a week. I also do not only use one shaft. But mostly, I use 3 shafts. The two most commonly used are pictured below. Each shaft has a G2 Hard tip. The top shaft gets about 60% of my playing time and is just over a year old. The bottom shaft gets about 25% of my time and was installed 6 months ago. While I haven’t tried all current manufacturers, I agree with other commenters that G2 are my favorite tips. Build quality as layered tips is among the best. That quality holds up over longer term use. For some time, I looked for equivalent tips to replace my old favorite Moori III Quick tips. From my perspective, G2 Hard tips play as well and do not mushroom.

I've been using the G2 Mediums for a while now. They're the best tip I've tried in a long, long time and are comparable to the old Mooris.

I cut mine down during installation to about 1/2 and still get plenty of mileage out of mine. The only way I can see going through one in 2 months is excessive scruffing.

Valid question. My opinion on wear is based off an A player I do work for who admits he plays 40+ hours per week. Is this wear a bad thing? At 40 hours a week, I say no. It is what it is. He won the Iowa ACS state open in November with a G² Medium so now he’s a master. Since then I have installed 3 hard and 1 soft on two different shafts for him. He specifically requested I don’t cone them since they do not crown. Now this is feedback I beg to hear.

I have never ever played with the same tip long enough to wear ANY tip out. I don’t play enough and I own a lathe. Imagine lining up free beers in front of you and not sampling. Customer research. I’ve been playing with a G² hard since the holidays and so far I’m pleased.

I'm reading nothing but positive posts on
the G2, OP. I guess it's time for you or
anyone else that hasn't played with them
yet to give them a try. You could almost
bet it'll be satisfaction guaranteed.
