G-Core compared to a OB1

I have played with a G-Core shaft for around a year, and while looking on here I came across a deal on a like new ob1. So I went on and got the shaft thinking that I may like something new. What is to be expected out of the new shaft? I would say that it will have a lot more of a stiff hit. I was just thinking that I would upgrade to an ld shaft. It should be here in a few days. I have only hit a few shots with an ob1 on a jacoby cue with the wood to wood joints like my McDermott cue, so I think the hit will be much like that one. I would just like to find out what other players thought about the ob1..

With your Gcore you have more feel ,than you will with ob1, the ob1 is slightly less deflective than the gcore , but the g core is more lively.. The ob1 feel is dead, for me I preferred the gcore cause I could feel what I was putting on the ball speed wise. With the ob1 I seemed to come short on sets because of the dull feel ..... jmho..

Alot of people do love the ob1s, im not one of them , however I do love the ob classic, but the classic has no foam insert in the shaft ,and also doesnt have a maple ferrule,which means more feel and a stiffer hit..
That foam and maple ferrule are the reason I believe that the ob1-and 2 hit so spongy..

The first time I tried an OB-1, I did not like the dull feel and put it aside. Later, I tried it again, played with it a few weeks and loved it. The tip needed some time to break in and harden a bit. You can search AZ and find others who have had the same experience with the OB-1 and Everest tip. It really make a difference with this shaft.

Give the tip some serious playing time and it will improve the feel of the hit.

I like your picture with the Springfield xd, I have a subcompact 40. thanks for the info. My Gcore came with the everest tip, so i have had some experience with the tip i like the tip, but when it needed to be replaced i got a kumiui black soft, and like it also.
