Let me give another plug for Tomahawk. I’ve replaced all (over a dozen) of my ferrules with Tomahawk. I’ve been very pleased with the results. Is G10 suitable for a standard ferrule that goes over wood? Also would G10 be ok for thin cap atop an existing ferrule serving as a shaft protector?
Tomahawk can be purchased in either 1” blanks or 1 foot rods. I use both depending on whether I’m replacing a ferrule on a wood shaft (1”) or finishing a CF shaft (1 foot rod). The ferrule on my Cynergy shaft was not up to par for me; replaced that ferrule with a Tomahawk ferrule and it plays and sounds much better. BTW, the 1 ft rod gives me plenty of length on the lathe to cut whatever size insert I need for the CF shaft.
How is the deflection? I bought a couple of blanks from Verbo and have tried a few different materials for the ferrule and have not been pleased yet.Tomahawk can be purchased in either 1” blanks or 1 foot rods.
