They appear to be the same cue,is it just me or are they the same?,i know she had leather wrap put on hers and the one at the end of the movie has white irish linen but other then that they appear identical, pretty strange in my search for info on the cue.

It is a popular design from SouthWest. My friend has a SW that looks just like the one on PHJ. It has six Goncala Alves points into Gabon Ebony with a single natural veneer. I hope this help you with your design.:)

Thanks and yes it does,i know that SW does repeat alot of there cues,i mean how much can you do when its SW style, then it not SW style anymore,i doubt you will see a Hoppe style SW or Bushka style SW either.:)I just was watching a match on tape of Ga Young Kim and Karen Corr and then Pool Hall Junkies,i just couldnt believe they were the same besides the wrap, the wrap really makes the cues appear different,i like the leather wrapped one best but then again thats preference.

Here's picture of Ga Young Kim with her SW cue. It's not the best picture, but you can get an idea of what her cue looks like.

I'm kinda curious... am I the only one who thought that Poolhall Junkies was an absolutely horrific film? I mean, seriously. It was quite possibly the only two hours of my life that I truly regret. Am I alone here or what?

I'm sure I'll catch flack for it, but from an entertainment standpoint, I enjoyed the movie enough that I own a copy of it. I'm a huge fan of Christopher Walken, and I just loved his character in this movie. He had some great lines, and appeared to be truly enjoying himself.

Fast Lenny,
If you don't mind my asking, What's with the sudden obsession with Ga's cue?

I really love the design but didnt know what woods and couldnt find any pics to show a cuemaker along with the ingredients of it.:) I plan on having it made in the next couple months if possible by Greg Kucharski at www.gregskues.com , he makes a beautiful cue that hits awesome.:D

As for the PHJs movie,i watch it here and then, wont compare to The Hustler and Color of Money of course, but it has some good stuff in it,i have seen worse movies ie: Stickmen,Behind the 8 Ball(? name),there is a new pool movie out Shooting Gallery, the reviews said its horrible but i will have to watch it myself.:)

I could almost swear the one in PHJ is a tulipwood into an ebony nose.

The cue is the same as Ga Youngs and the one i have pictured, but the wrap is a white with brown speck i believe so it makes the cue look totally different, check it out and tell me if you think its the same one or same design.;)

You're probably set on the southwest design, but I saw on the samsara site a few cues that have the high/low points in ebony with something similar. Just in case you wanted to get a few more ideas on different wood.

I am pretty certain Kim's SW is not from Roy. To keep you guys from wild guessing, this cue was sold to Kim's ex-boyfriend in Taiwan around 4 years ago. It has an ebony nose with tulipwood points. It's used but in pretty good condition. It's a 1997 or 1998 cue I don't remember. Kim's ex-boyfriend bought this cue cheap and gave it to Kim.
Kim's breaking cue is a Dennis Searing. It's made from a Dufferin house cue. It's maple nose with ebony butt. I sold the Searing to a local guy when I took a vacation to Taiwan 3 years ago. That guy loaned the Searing to Kim and never got it back. I am not sure whether she paid for it or not.
