Gabriels/Diamond connection?

I recently contacted Gabriels for some info and dealers in my area, and they refered me to Diamond Billiards?!? Anybody have any info on the connection? Are they "sister "companies? I can't imagine why Diamond would market a rival table maker unless they were affiliated.:confused:
 
I had the same experience. I contacted Gabriels in 2006 about 9 foot tables, and they told me to contact Diamond. I have no idea why.
 
As I recall, the two companies had a legal dispute. The resolution was that they distribute each other's tables.
 
Diamond Billiard Products is the exclusive distributor for Gabriels Billiards in the North American market. Currently, Diamond does not make a carom billiard table and Gabriels makes the best one in the world. Diamond does not have any sales presence in the European market.
