Gabriels - out of business?

TheHalfaCouple,
Urgent IPT-cloth update: I played last night on the "IPT table" at my friend's house (IPT member) - hadn't played on it for a couple of weeks (since my battle with sjm). My theory about the divots has proven correct. All of those slightly worn spots are now REALLY worn, you can see the backing fibers throught the spots, and the balls noticeably settle into these spots if they slow down anywhere near them. It looks "moth-eaten."

In my opinion the cloth needs replaced now - it can't have been on there more than a few months, with only average household use (by professional quality players - myself excluded). This is the crappiest cloth on which I've ever played; my 2 1/2 year old Simonis is in MUCH better condition than the several month old IPT cloth. Just a report, I have no axes to grind.

Since serious players and IPT hopefuls will need to replace the cloth frequently I see a multi level marketing bonanza on the horizon.

“Pool for Life” distributorships soon to be available. The sooner you get in the higher on the ladder your are.

No worries WillieWearYourClothDown, thanks for the update. Certainly won't be going that route. Although to be fair to the IPT cloth, are you sure it wasn't your extreemly high runs that wore the cloth down quicker than it normally would have done?

Thanks

Maybe this is the reason the IPT is promising a minimum of $100,000 per player in 2007. They'll pay them in bolts of cloth ;-)

Thanks Paul,
I'm based in the UK and was considering driving over to Holland in Sept to pick a table after the Euro Tour! I noticed their factory was located on the hook of Holland which would have made it easy, do you know where they are relocating too? This probably explains why they are not responding to emails/phone!

Any ideas how much a sig pro costs new? Also how much would a Diamond Pro cost to ship to UK, I can see prices on Diamond site but no shipping info or international suppliers listed? I know the US Open sells them cheap afterwards and I think the Gabriels where being sold for around $3k after the 14.1 worlds, would prob have been cheaper to but one of them and ship than new in Holland! :(

Pat Holtz had a Diamond IPT table shipped to Scotland. You might want to PM him on here or on SAPPA.

this is the table. i love the way how it looks, and it also plays greath. I even like it more then the diamonds. theone, let me know what the total price would be (ship, install, buy etc) and where u got it. the only place i can seem to find prices is on loontjes, and its expensive :s

http://www.loontjens.com/index.php?cPath=14_17

lhere is a link to 2d hand tables loontjes sell, most are showroom models or tables use in the eurotour, EC, etc. there are some gc III, clashes etc for under 3k. might be worth to check it out. (also if u descide to order something, try to get the price even more down, if ur good enough, they might give some discount. even on new products...
