Gadget Wish List

If some of you are like me, occasionally you like to purchase unique pool gadgets to enhance your game. Maybe it's nothing more than a Willard Dime Shape scuffer or something more elaborate. I have bought a lot of different things over the years. That rack of 9 balls connected together for practicing your break is pretty cool too.

One of the things that I would like to purchase in the coming years is Joe Tucker's LASER TRAINER. If you have never seen it in action you should. The device can be ordered at http://www.joetucker.net/products.html I think Joe may even have some video of him using the device making incredible shots and incredible safeties.

It is a very unique device and I've never seen one in person but I have seen Joe make incredible shots with this device. One of the things I have been thinking about in regards to the LASER TRAINER is that once you line up the lasers correctly now all you have to do is to deliver the cue ball to the correct spot. Once you are able to do this, you should be able to burn an image in your mind as to how the shot should look once you get down on the cue ball. You should even be able to burn an image in your mind what the shot should look like standing up and both of those are important.

Anyway, that's the item on my gadget wish list.

What's yours and why?

pool related gadgetry? My next purchase will be a Lucasi Hybrid. I'm not sure if this is gadgetry, but it is a little tech-ish. You've got a good idea here, but not sure there is enough "gadgetry" that people want.

The economy certainly won't help sell pool related tools. You're probably right. I should have titled the thread differently.

I am really just talking about any pool related tools (which you currently don't own) that you might like to put on your wish list to purchase down the road and that could easily include specific videos, pool lessons, equipment, supplies, cues, tips etc.

the BreakRak would be awesome to have

$ for $ its the best training aid I have ever seen in 24 years of pool. It feels kinda dumb when you use it, but when your done and get into a match with someone you can see just how GOOD it is. Its expensive but when you see the quality of the construction it makes sence, also its made to get pounded on for ever so it has to be built super strong. I'm not a gadget guy at all. But a Break Rak is a must if your interested in winning.

I would really like to try the breakrak as well. I bookmarked Joetucker's website for future gadgetry :)

...is a must if your interested in winning.

That is one of the most amusing statements I have read in a long time!

The gadget I most yearn for is a pool table in my home, unfortunately my home doesn't have room yet. I keep hoping I can find a larger apartment though!

bout the only thing i want, is a case that has a different layout of pockets on it then the normal 1 little 1 big pocket ...

don't know much about the other gadgets yet as i am still recently 'new' again to pool

I really wish a room owner in Tampa had one and rented it out... I would gladly pay to rent one. I'm sure after it's all said and done they are worth the cash for someone serious about their game... but the $$$ is a tough pill to swallow and simply can't be justified with a newborn, a teacher for a wife and a sh1t bag economy. alas, it will remain on the wish list.

Hard to judge a book by its cover

There have been gadgets I THOUGHT would be good but I did not like: a laser cue and a Sardo rack.

The BrakRak looked good but had not heard any reviews, so I waited.

The Spider looks "cool," but it looks like an expensive way to do something a simple piece of paper can do a lot cheaper.

I like Joe Tucker's Third Eye Stroke Trainer, his laser trainer is next.

I built my own "paint bucket ball polisher," based on AZB designs. Highly recommended.

From scraps in my garage, I just built a "pivot point guage" for myself (see Mike Page's earlier posting) to compare some of my shafts. I am actually looking for the shaft that has a PP closest to my most usual bridge distance (6-7 inches). I plan to experiment with different speeds and tips of english.

I wish I had the money to sample lots of production cues for myself: Lucasi, Poison, and even Cuetek.

Before all of these, I want to spend money on a set of Brunswick Centennial balls. I think the Aramith Pros are probably the same quality, but the Centennials look so damn good.

As long as I have kids in private school, I have higher priorities.
