Alex playing Corey now. 10-ball.
6-6 with Corey running out.
Both have table speed issues. Tables are playing fast.
7-6 Corey.
Corey using semi-soft break. Makes ball behind 1-ball.
Safety play. Alex kicks the 1-ball in and runs out.
7-7. Alex breaking. They are racking their own.
Alex breaks hard. No good shot on the 1-ball.
Alex sells out. Corey is running out.

Alex shoots a 1-10 combo. Alex breaking. Hill-hill.

Well, I have a little time now, so I'll write a small Galveston report. 
I headed down to Galveston on Friday. I live in Fort Worth and drove down by Waco to make the final leg down to Galveston with Bigtruck. We arrived around 4:30pm.
My first impression was that the event wasn't very large, just because I didn't see the usual number of vendors. However, once I walked into the rooms where the tables were setup, it changed my view.
The ballrooms where the tables were placed was enormous! I was at the DCC this year and the DCC seemed smaller and more condensed. However, the DCC was on two floors whereas everthing was just spread out at the GWC (Galveston World Classic).
The layout looked great! I really enjoyed seeing all the tables spreadout. It just made it look grand!
Pool-wise, most of the matches had been played by the time I got there on Friday afternoon/evening. I walked in to see a 10-ball match between Alex and Corey. The TV table was featuring Larry Nevel against Johnny Archer. I'd say it seemed like there were less than 20 matches left for the entire weekend by the time I'd gotten there.
Still, I got to see Strickland play Bustamante in person and miss that final 10-ball! I stayed until the finals to watch Mika try to shoot the final shot with a fly buzzing near the table. All-in-all, it was worth the trip to see the matches that I did get to see.
There was a little action left, but I didn't get to see much of it.
My final impression overall was that the event was good for a first time, but there are still many issues to resolve. I think they did an outstanding job for their first time, but I also think they messed many things out, most notably the payouts. I hope everything gets ironed out and another event comes along next year. If it reaches its potential, this event will be one of the best of the year!
