Gambling again at 9 ball!

Well I did it for the second week and gambled with that buddy of mine.

He would only give me the 8 this time, but I expected it. I could play it straight up, but if he wants to offer the 8 I will take it.

I beat him the first set 5 - 1, and the second set 5 - 2.

Everytime I would pocket the 8 I would purposely try and set up for the 9. And I think he took note of that.

I wonder if tonight he will ask to play straight up?

I guess I will play it by ear. So I will just play my game and hopefully walk away with some more confidence. The thought of loosing my money is sending me into another playing style. I am much more focused on playing safe when I don't have a shot. I am much more determined to win. It is a pretty wild feeling, and I hope it helps me out for the next Fast Eddie's stop in SA for Dec. :D

We should have an AZ thing at this next stop... maybe we could all get together and have dinner or something and shoot some?

Well we all could do something like that Sat. night, cause I don't intend to drive up until Saturday morning. It is only like 2 hrs away for me.

I am sure Paul, and Kevin would be up for hanging out though.

Did you get a chance to hook up with Paul or Kevin yet?

I need to find out if Ryan is going to go up there. Did you meet him the last time he was up in SA?

I hope Melinda intends to be up there, cause I ain't seen her in forever and I owe her a big ol hug!

I went to College Station with Kevin. He's a cool guy and he knows a lot about the game that I didn't know. He explained a lot to me like how a dang Calcutta works lol. Saturday is good for me. Its actually the day I get out of the Air Force :). So I get to start off my new life with a bang!

Why plfish? Cause I am just a rookie learning the ropes? LOL
He's losing to you intentionally. What he's going to do is wait until you play him straight up, and then he's going to beat you - by one or two games max. You'll figure you've owned this guy twice before, so you'll probably play him again straight. He'll beat you again. You'll ask for the spot back. He'll put heat on you, saying you beat him twice with the spot, and it's time to man up and play straight up with him. Then he'll destroy you, or perhaps just keep beating you by one and keep you on the line. That's a fish.

I doubt if he's throwing the sets. I'd insist on the Rotation 8 or the Last Two first if he wants to play even, then if you beat him again you can try him even on the third match;) . Those spots are less than the 8 but you probably won't notice much difference except not having another wild ball to combo on. If you're running out in rotation it's the same anyways except for the chance of making it on the break.

If you decide to play him even, watch for an adrenaline burst from him as his confidence increases. One good way to slow him down if that happens and he starts to put racks together is to play safe when it's your shot. Hook him and make him kick. It'll break his rythmm and slow him down. I know...Buck15 did it to me not long ago and came back to win the set. GREAT strategy...Tom

Na, I have watched him play people before. He is too prideful for that, and he wants to win too much. If you would have read my last gambling post you would have already known that. He DOSEN'T hustle! That is why I chose him to start gambling with. Besides I also stated that I would have played him straight up to begin with, but he was cocky enough to think he could give me the 7 out! But thanks for the concern!

Well I have already kept him under wraps by continually hooking him, and I am going to continue to play smart. That is why this has been a good learning experience. That and because I know he isn't trying to hustle me. He doesn't care if he wins or looses as far as the money is concerned. He just likes the challenge of playing someone for money. He also really thought he could give me the 7 out and win. He also figured he would beat me down with giving me the 8. You could tell by the way he was playing, because I have known him for like 3 years. He doesn't like to loose to anyone with or without a spot. so I will play him straight up if he wants. I even stated I would play him straight up in my first gambling posts.
