hey all, I'm new on the forum here.

I just moved to Chapel Hill, NC and am looking for anyone to get in some games with. I work from home and am pretty flexible with my time during the day. I just went out today and checked out a pub/grill/bar called Bailey's which has several nice 9' diamond tables. They play pretty well, and here's the kicker: PLAY FREE from 11:00AM-2:00PM. House cues are the nicest I've ever seen too - straight two-piece china specials with decent tips.

Anyone for a lunchtime game? I love straight pool (they don't have score beads though) but I'd be happy playing 8ball or 9ball too. I'd enjoy learning rotation or one-pocket if that's your game. I'm "strong beginner" to "intermediate level."

send me a PM.

I don't think Bailey's is going to be the best place for action. You have some very fine rooms in the area you should check out. Brown's Billiards in Raleigh, Babineau's in Cary, Play2Win in Raleigh, Mojo's in Apex, and Oscar's are just a few that come to mind. The Brass Tap in Raleigh is always good for action as well.

Steve-

Thanks for the tips! I've checked out Oscar's and Mojo's and I'll hit the other places too. I wasn't too clear in the first message - the idea is that I'll be at Bailey's for the free lunchtime session a few days a week, and if anyone else happened to be in the area, itching for a game during lunch, drop me a line. I'd even be up for working some drills with someone - those are always more fun with more than one person.

The rest of you - maybe I'll see you around at your usual spots at night...

Anyone for a game of PIG? One player calls a shot and gets 10 tries. If the other player can't make as many attempts he gets a letter. A great way to work on stuff that you wouldn't think to work on.

Hi Jon,

I just moved to the Triangle area about 6 months ago myself. Why don't you come down to Brass Taps in Raleigh on Monday, Thursday, or Friday. They have 9-ball tournaments on these nights and you will get to meet alot of good people and have fun. If your looking to gamble, you will surely find somebody there as well. If you like, PM me and I'll meet you there and we can play some 14.1 if thats what you prefer.

You can find pretty good action in the afternoon and evenings. Weds and Sundays are 5.00 all day long.

Go to the country club and ask if Don Horne is still playing. He used to like gambling at pool and cards.
