I wasn't sure if this belonged here or the wanted/for sale section. Does anyone know where I can find some parts for my Gandy Big G LTD pool table? What I'm looking for is the three metal supports for the ball self as seen in the below photo. I've checked with Ken at Classic Billiards but he didn't have any of these unfortunately.

The foot apron of my table. (I would like to find a complete replacement for this piece if possible as it's the only damaged piece of the table)

Anyone out there have some Gandy parts?

I don't, but you might have more luck in the Talk to a Mechanic section.

IMHO - it looks like 3 1/2 in rods of Alum would suffice in a pinch.
Any self-respecting Cuemaker ought be able to make 'em in 5 mins.

Okay, anyone with a Gandy, can you take some measurements for me? What are the diameter of these things? The machine screw size that is used to bolt these on? This would really help lots.

Looks like nothing other than round stock, buy some 1/2" wood, aluminum or cold rolled rod/dowel cut it to length needed...
Wood will be a easyer DIY project, sandpaper and stain the wood dowel to preferred color, center drill a pilot hole for the set screw and your done.

Best of luck.

They are just aluminum tubing cut to length. 1/2 O.D. with 1/8" wall will work very well.

I just sold my Gandy, so I know what you are talking about.

I've found aluminum tubing online. Not sure what I'm looking at though.

1/2 outer diameter
1/8 wall?

What about inner diameter? What will fit some machine screws nicely?

I'm certain I can fix this myself :)

I would go to Home Depot and buy the $7 aluminum rod, cut it to lengths needed, use the center head of a combination square to mark the center of the ends with a "X" mark, center drill it 1" deep with a 17/64" drill bit and use a 5/16-18 tap to cut the threads, screw in the screws or bolts with a dab of blue loc-tite on the threads to prevent them from unscrewing with vibration.... and you will be done.
If you have any buddy's with a machinist lathe it will be a little easier to center drill. Use half inch screws or bolts so they don't bottom out because a tap can not make threads all the way to the bottom of the hole.

If you go to a machine shop to have these made make sure your sitting down when they tell you the price.

1/2" O.D with 1/8 wall is simple math- there is a 1/4" hole in the aluminum you found online.

Hope this helps.

Little off topic; can anyone tell me which bolt size is used for the aprons and which size is for the rails? Have all these damn bolts but not sure what goes where.

Ok, figured it out. Short bolts are for the aprons, long bolts are for the rails. :)

Now, to figure out these metal posts...

Can anyone with a Gandy Big G tell me the length of these metal posts? Without them, the plastic ball shelf on mine flexes and I am having trouble taking an accurate measurement.

I have a 9 foot black Gandy (LTD?). I just took mine apart and re-clothed it. My gandy has 4-1/8" tubes with 1/4" x 5-1/2" carriage bolts

Finally replaced these things!!! For those Gandy people out there who are also missing these, I'll share what I did. Best part is, it cost me less than $10!

I bought some 1/2" x 36" aluminum tubing from Lowe's.

Three 1/4" x 7" carriage bolts, washers, and hex nuts. Most large hardware stores only carry 6" long 1/4" carriage bolts. So I bought mine at a steel supply store for something like 16 cents each.

I cut the aluminum tubing to three, 5 1/4" lengths. Then all I did was fasten the bolts through the shelf, tubes, and wood, securing it at the top with the hex nuts and washers. Done.

I actually turned my tubing by hand with some steel wool, giving it a nice brushed aluminum look. they look fantastic!
