Hey,
Just a heads up.
I just received a Gator Grip tip tool from an eBay billiard supply dealer in California. It was ($14.95) and free shipping.

As far as I can tell it looks and works exactly like the ($35) Gator Grip tip tool made by Kamui. It does a very nice job of conditioning your tip.

Here's a link to see how to use the tool:

Peace

How about a piece of sand paper and a block of wood for 25 cents?

agree with Dan, and go further: i haven't used Anything but chalk on the tip of my cues for over a year, and both of them have utterly perfect dime tips. i miscue maybe once a week, playing a few hours a day, and owing only to stroke mechanics breaking down.

if you chalk properly, you simply don't need that stuff. ever.

I can one up you back. I haven't used a tip tapper or sand paper or anything on a tip since 1998! :) I do miscue on occasion only on hard draw shots, but that is probably a mechanical thing like you say.
