GC Simonis Install / Houston Mechanic

Recently purchased GC VI. Simonis Cloth install is very loose.
Corner pocket creases & cloth is easily lifted.
I'm also getting several small tears from everyday play.
Seems excessive for only 7 weeks of play.

Not confident in the original installer's ability to make it right. Looking for an experienced mechanic in the Houston area.

When I had Simonis installed on my GC it was loose as yours is. I called the installer back to tighten it up he said that he installed the cloth for a "family room" use. The loose cloth slows the balls down some and makes play more enjoyable for the family. That's what he told me??? I said tighten it up I want the real pool experience. The bed was tightened a bit, but after some time thinking, did he do the same to the rails? I think that the rails may have a different reaction to a ball if the cloth was wrapped loosly than if the cloth was stretched tight over the cushion? Just my thought.

all of this means= I do not know how to stretch the cloth correctly and I am making up bull$hit reasons for the call back....

Most "retail pool operations" do not have anyone trained to install worsted cloth....

I have been asking around the DFW metroplex about this installer for other reasons on my table. It seems that he is no longer installing, but just restoring GC's. I'm sure the same problems are going to keep following him.

My hackstaller told me the looseness will tighten up. Compliments of BilliardsFlorida. I did what you are doing. Found someone to re-install a new cloth. Wrong glue was used also.
We need RKC to certify train/certify mechanics. The ones that can do it right can get their price. The table owners pay once and have proper set up. Cost less in the end.

I have been wanting to talk to RKC but did not know how to contact him. Now I have his contact info. and all my questions (so far) have been answered. I may find a whole new bunch of problems, damage, or who knows, when I break the table down. I'm going to the BCA Nationals at the end of the month, so won't do any table mechanical work until March.
Also, I looked into RKC's FB page and some from here are suggesting that he stream his knowledge for a fee. I think he could do very well financially with that idea?? I believe his family is getting him set up for a You Tube page that can earn him some cash also. Either way we will all benefit from him sharing what he knows. He's one of the good guys.
