Howdy,
In the April issue of Billiards Digest George Fells wrote about late Johny Ervolino under the title-Lovable,a sort of.( I did not read it.A friend of mine told me over the phone)
Is it the time to write like that especially when Johny`s family and friends are still grieving?

Read it first, then comment. I liked it a lot, but I always read George's column first when BD arrives.

Fran Crimi wrote a long, detailed letter to the editor about Johnny in the same issue that was more telling than George's article, by a long shot.

I think both players were complimenting Johnny, even though their personal stories about him showed his human foibles. I never knew him, but they make him sound like a very interesting fellow. RIP

You may want to read the article. It was actually a very nice article about Johnny. I think anyone that has the opportunity would want to form their own opinion. Don't let those few little words that started this thread keep you from supporting BD or reading the article.
Just my opinion!

There was nothing wrong with this in any way. On the whole, I found the article objective, insightful, and, on the whole, fairly generous in recounting the life of a colorful player.
