Hey Smitty

I knew there had to be some Ga. people on here. I was just up at Mr. Cues last week. Where do you usually go up there?

I'm in Alpharetta and just learning the wonderful game of Pool. The nearest (decent) room to me is The Pool Room 2 in Duluth - anyone shoot there?

I shoot at both Cue's 2 and The Pool Room in Duluth. Most of the players you will meet shoot at both places.

Macon

Well if any of you ever find yourself in Macon, stop by The Hole Thang and see me. Always like to meet fellow players

I shoot at the Pool Room 2 in Duluth the most when I can. And I did play in APA leagues at Cues2 for the spring and summer sessions. With our shop having to get ready for Christmas soon I won't be able to gaurantee being at league so I just decided to do Tournaments only. And I enjoy tournaments much better.

I play in the 1pocket tournaments at Cues2 on Wednesdays and will be playing in various 8/9ball tournaments around town when I can.

Also Articmonkey. I see you're from Alpharetta and word around town is they plan or are building a Pool Room3 in Alpharetta. It's even been rumored to be the best one yet.

The Hole...
What kind of tables do you have at your pool hall?

Not really sure how many tables they have at the Hole but its about 30 I think/ guessing 20 bar tables and 10/9fts ... I do know they have one double shim...9ft. All are very fast cloth. I am thinking this room will become most popular in the Mid Ga Area. Some of the 9fts are very old Brunswick ....early 1900's

Right now we have 10 9' tables and 25 7' bar boxes(mix of valley and dynamo, half with fast half with slow fuzzy) Most of the 9's have Simonis(all will once it gets time to recover the others). 2 1922 Brunswicks and 3 Kason's and 5 9' Bar Box tables, that have been converted to time tables because the internals are so badly built we would have to run out 200 times a night to unstick a cue ball. We will be replacing those tables in the future with 2 more 1922 Brunswicks we have in the back and 2 more Kason's and 1 Gandy. We also have an early 1900's 10' Snooker table and a mid 40's-50's 10' snooker table.
We are making changes as we go as we hear from more and more players as they come in on what they like and what they don't like. We have a 9 ball touney coming up on Sept 16th that is a $75 entry on 7' bar box tables. Double elim. I don't have the flyer in front to give all the details but as soon as I get down there tomorrow I will post it.
Hopefully we can bring a little bit of pool back to Macon, considering my last name is Poole, I think I may be born to do this.

Do you have to pay quarters too? I would assume not if your paying a green fee?

No...The green fee covers your table time....We pop the tables open an hour/hour and half before the tournament starts and let all entrants play as much as they want to get familiar with the table and then leave them open for the tourney.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention we will be serving our famous boneless bar-b-que ribs. If you particpated in any of our $5000.00 tourneys @ Hometown Bar & Grill, you will easily remember. I still run into players that remember that bar-b-que.
