ralf souquet, francisco bustamante, thorston hoemann, thomas engert, oliver ortmann, tom strong, now, that is some line up! try and top that!

Ralph Souqet- Top tier player
Oliver Ortmann- Top tier player
Thorsten Hohmann- Low tier player (winning the WPC was a fluke)
Django- Phillipines, even if he lived on Mars he'd still be representing the Phillipines.
Thomas Engert- Low tier player

I'm not impressed.

I think the Phillappino's might have something to say about that. Bustamonte may live in Germany but, he would shoot for his home country in a heartbeat. The States could put a damn good team in there also.

Kent Mc.

You have 2 bums on there, I dont have to say who,and oliver has not won anything since I cant remembe when.

bob marley was the best country and western singer in the universe

Come on guys we live in America. And here we have the Constitution protecting every one's right to freedom of speech. We can say anything we want if we believe it no matter how idiotic we sound. Ask the ACLU. I happen to believe that Hawaii has the best Hockey players just you watch in the next Winter olympics when the Hawaiians sweep the hockey game, the luge, and the ice skating races. Hello! Aloha! Oh Dean!

philipines ----Bustamonte, Efren, Parica, Santos, Luat,
U.S. ----- Archer, Strickland, Daulton, Varner, Hall, and 4 or 5 other subs and you got the 8 for the $$$$$$$. No offence intended.

German players.

I agree with some of the others......Just because Francisco lives in Germany...doesn't make him German. Good example is Mika Immonen as lived in NY for a long time now but still plays for the European team in the Mosconi cup. Thorsten Hohmann is yet to really prove himself. One tournament does not a top player make. Even though it was a big one. 9-ball is a game where the balls roll funny for everyone sometimes. I don't know about it being a fluke...but I guess we will see in the upcoming months. You know he was close to giving pool up until he won that title. He was out of money. Ralf Souquet....great player, no question. The US has a very strong 9-ball team however, the Euro's have us in the all around game I think. Just my opinions if anyone cares.

I didn't know Germany was a person. lol
Hohmann is a future great. He better be as he will be getting sponsored to stay in the states this year. The co-sponsor told me he's the best young player he's ever seen.

Thorsten,
Has high runs of 408, 388, and 372 in straight pool and people consider him a low tiered player? He is only one of two active 400 ball runners playing today.

Thomas Engert has also run way over 400. I believe his high run is 492 or something like that. I bet he has come closest to Mosconi's 526...

Philipines: Reyes, Bustamante, Parica, Alcano, Santos

U.S.A. : Archer, Strickland, Morris, Robles, Williams

Netherlands: Van Den Berg, Lely, Feijen, Rico Dics

Chinese Taipei: Chin Shun Yang, Hui Kai Hsia, Fong Pang Chao, Pei Wei Chang

That would be 4 :)

He won the Weert 9ball a couple weeks back which had a pretty talented field.

Snipe IMO i think you should add Double J to your list from the USA, and from the Phil you should have Rudolfo Luat.

I think I would have to give the nod to efren and the rest of the bunch, but the germans are not too bad either.

Thomas Engert as low-tier and Hohmann as a fluke?

I almost pissed myself I was laughing so hard when I read that. Time is the greatest enemy to an overbearing skeptic...

Yup, only on a message baord; I would love to have seen this guy mention this LOW-TIER FLUE junk to anybody within an ear shot at the 14.1 Worlds I was at in New Jersey.

NOBODY simply flukes their way to a 174 ball run at a World Championship, and FYI 9 ball is not the only game in town.

This is the kind irresponsible posting that make some of the Pros around here on the AZ head for the hills.

Good thing the BCA is only a race to 7. He was barely able to fluke out a win over archer there. sure he won 7-0, but if it had been a race to 8, his luck never would have held up.

I can't believe how idiotic some people's posts are.

Ok guys, that post was made TWO AND A HALF FRIGGIN YEARS AGO. LOL. At the time, Hohmann and Engert were unknowns to most of us, until Hohmann won the WPC. And by fluke, I didn't mean that he "got lucky", I meant that Alex was the favorite to win it, and Alex got no sleep and played the worst I've ever seen him play. I watched the finals many times, and Alex made way too many mistakes. Thorsten played great, but at the time I still felt he was not an upper-echelon player, like Reyes, Archer, Souqet, etc.

In those two years since I've made that post, Hohmann has proved that he most definately is an upper-echelon player, or "high tier" as I called it. I would place him in the top 10 best pool players alive. Engert is somewhere in the top 25, maybe better.

I didn't dig this topic up, somebody else did. What I said two years ago in this thread, I guarantee all of you, that there were ALOT of posters who agreed with me back then. Alot has happened since then, so you guys need to chill the hell out.
