Ok!!

I've been searching for a way to keep my hands dry (no powder, no glove)

-Frequent wash
-Drisol
-Isopropyl alcool (purel)
-Dishwashing detergent

Do you know another way to dry instantly and temporarly the hands?

-wrist sweatbands, very fashionable both on and off the sports stage
-180 grit sandpaper
-coarse steel wool
-butane torch (surprisingly portable)
-Preventative maintainece; not letting them get wet in the first place

I have a problem with this as well. I have to powder the crap out of my hands. Looking forward to some good advise. On a side note running them under hot water seems to help for a little while.

Purell works for me.

sweaty hands??

if your hands are getting sweaty, your betting out of your comfort zone!! lol.

1. Cold water and soap.
2. Do not put your bridgehand in your pocket, or pick up a drink.
3. Do not hold anything in your bridge hand while not shooting.
4. If you feel they are getting a little clammy, blow on them from time to time.
5. Wash your hands every hour or two in cold water again.

Adding things, like alcohol, proglide, talc, baby powder etc..... will not feel right
after a while. Makes for a stickier situation than a little sweat would have been. Hope these idea help!

5. Wash your hands every hour or two in cold water again. Wash hot, rince cold.

Great post! Although I already follow those rules religiously..

Today I went to the drugstore and a druggist recommended me to try "Deodoroche" in spray form. Works well.. for the moment. Tomorrow will be THE TEST!

keeping hands dry

I use a product called Silky Hand from cue silk. Its a spray formula and seems to work pretty well.

Does it last long? What's the feeling of it in your hands?

it last about 2 hrs for me or until i wash my hands it keeps the moisture out of your hands.

If you are hands are sweaty, wear a glove. Talc is bad.

It absorbs into the shaft, and then the talc inside your shaft absorbs water. Water in shaft = warp?

As others have said, keep them very clean and very dry.

Sweaty hands means buy a glove!

... never!

I already have one and I hate it... the big problem in fact is that the tables I play on are dirty. I was just asking in case someone have found a revolutionnary product..

I follow Chuck's advice but I take the paper towel I use to dry my hands back the table with me. I use it to wipe down the shaft & wipe or hold it in my hands while sitting to minimize the trips to the bathroom. If they don't have paper towels, a lightly dampened towel is great to have by your seat.

On target advice River! This should be re-posted within each future dirty shaft and sweaty hands thread.:) Will only add that you keep a towell and leather patch handy for burnishing.
