My question is for anyone that have drilled into their balls for any reason. What type of bit did you use and what did you find the best rpm ( average or ballpark is OK ) to be? I want to put pool balls on some of the shifters of my cars, trucks. I also would like to put some on my boat. Maybe like an 8 ball for the left motor and a 9 ball for the right motor or something like that. Maybe even a cue ball for the throttles ???? Also, what did you find the largest hole you could safely get away with in the ball? I ask this because on some of the late model cars I am going to need to make a hole large enough for the positive lockout button, or do away with it which I would prefer not to do. I have done this in the past when I out a ball on the stick shifter in my tow truck. Problem is it took me like 3 or 4 tries to get it right. Problem I was encountering was the area around the hole kept " flaking " and chipping. I also had a ball completely split in two. I'm pretty sure the reason the first one I did split was for some reason I didn't see fit to drill a pilot hole and step the bits. Anyway any tips or advice would be appreciated because unlike when I was 17 I need these to look pro. Thanks all!!!
