Haven't played in a league since 2001.
Lots of tournaments around here, and well, everywhere, require you to be APA this or that.
I don't like APA so I'm playing in what I played in a long time ago, Valley and BCA.

Love bar table 8 ball, and the 3 person team format is something new to me.

I'll report back after things get underway to see if I can snag any awards.

Check out the "how you doing in league" thread. Many regular leaguers giving their updates.

Good place to talk league.

We just had our league banquet, I was trying to see if I can out-do my son in break and runs. Well seems the scorekeepers did not record crap for the "special" wins as I got two break and runs marked, when I did that my first league night with a two pack and had one every other week at least. Plus all the "game stealers" and whatever else they do for when the guy breaks dry and you run out. Patches are a bit silly but dang it I wanted to out-do my kid LOL

I know all the cool kids don’t agree, but I enjoy league play. It’s a great way to establish your Fargo too, which could open up more tournaments to you…

As long as you have the right team, with the right attitude, you’ll have a blast! 👍

I can really see how league play could be very enjoyable if it was set up properly. In my case, I am a pool hall player; however, I can tolerate, may be even enjoy, an occasional evening of playing pool on well maintained bar boxes in a decent bar, but I am way past playing pool in the saturday night gun and knife clubs which proliferated the league back when I played. (I did have great teammates and that part of it could not have been better.) However, It seemed the interest for some of the other teams was that league night was just another opportunity to get drunk and show their ass because they had neither talent or interest in the game of pool. I did not participate long enough to obtain an in-depth understanding of the situation, and it still puzzles me why the organizers would degrade their programs by including such participants.

My league play is in one of the best pool halls in Florida.

Top quality equipment, good food, and a phenomenal staff. Players range the gamut from 250 Fargo newbies to a couple of top regional players in the 700ish range.

League play need not mean smokey bars with a bunch of knuckleheads more interested in drinking than playing pool. Though most of us aren’t opposed to the occasional adult beverage along the way… 😊
