Getting Ready For Calgary

Hey everybody. I have been dedicating a large amount of my time getting all geared up for the big tourney in Calgary in June. Working on my break. Running shot drill after shot drill spot shot drills stroke drills. And safety play. And tonight I think I got in a real good rythym. I actually broke and ran out 7 racks before a bad break ( had a few clusters needed saftey play to get the rack). Then after a few testers I strung together a 6 pack.
But what I want to know is what do you guys do to get your game in top form?

Thanks guys

Are you from Calgary? I would match up against people as good as you can find for cash if you seriously want to do well in Calgary (which tourney? The WPA qualifier that Johnny won last year?). If you can play with people of the caliber of Edwin Montal (5th place last year), Martin Daigle (4th place), Ralf Souquet (3rd place), Alex Pagulayan (2nd place), or Johnny (1st) and hold your own then you are likely to do well. But you have to match up alot and play alot of top caliber people for cash if you want to get your nerves in the right place, practice is not enough. Your game will fold if you don't get some actual competition and some heat on your game.

Well I am just getting back into the swing of things havent played to serious in the past few years but I do expect to do well in Calgary .( yes its the WPA that Johnny won last year, This year it is being promoed as the first Canadian UPA event , I can say I am not to impressed with that though) I do play against a few of the guys that placed there last year, including Edwin,
Benny O , Gary Hauck and Roger Colbert.

How do you like Gary's routine when he gets set to break? I just about fell off my stool the first time I saw it.

You think the routine is bad now. Should have seen it a few years back after the fred flinston twinkle toes routine he would give this huge mule kick when he finally cracked em. He damn near took out my knes one day as I walked behind him
