Getting rid of 7ft tables

Ok, I've heard about enough. It's my turn now. Ain't gonna score no points with you people, but you're all nuts anyway. LOL. You play pool, what else can I say.
OK, if you don't like bar tables, or people who play bar tables, DON'T PLAY ON THEM!!!!!! Don't like the tables because they're too easy????? Well , I have met a lot of really good big table players over the years who didn't have a clue on a barbox.

Well, I'm confused. What was the percentage of posters on this thread against bar tables????

Fred <~~~ thought the extreme majority was welcoming bar tables

Maybe, but we can't have these people out starting bonfires with the Valley tables. I used to make a pretty good living on them before I got maried and got a real job. They're all just kidding anyway. They know that anyone who picks up a cue and plays any game on any size table, is one more of us. We need all the players we can get. Sam

Fred,
That was my estimate as well. I am, however, in the great American democratic tradition, part of a very vocal minority.

Have you seen those little knee-high play tables that kids get for X-mas? The balls on those tables are about the size of small grapes. When I go to the home of one of our best straight pool players, at the end of each long session of serious 14.1, we play a game of 9-ball on his 9 ft. GCIV USING THE LITTLE BALLS FROM THE TOY TABLE. We have a great time (yes you can draw the "rock") - but it ain't pool. I have much the same feeling about the bar tables.

I never played on a table I didn't enjoy - but I still have my preferences. I also believe the sport would be enriched should the bigger tables become more prevalent.

P.S. - nothing wrong with a good bonfire every now and then.

That's the way I read it ... most are OK with 7'ers, some poo-poo them in favour of 9' tables, and one crazy thinks 10'ers should make a comeback :D Bigger aint necessarily better !

One thing about 7'ers, I find it a lot easier to hook myself on one compared to a 9' table. At the start of an 8 ball game on a 7' table there is not a lot of room to manoeuvre, and lots of places to get into trouble. ... and it's much trickier to kick your way out of that trouble too, for the same reason. I am a bit of an expert at getting myself into trouble on a pool table.
