Thanks Jim. It's interesting to listen to various players and how they became interested in pool. I wish Steve would do an interview...maybe he has...don't know...cuz he is such a good player.

As far as Steve

I have asked Steve to do an interview also and he has said that he probably would do it.

Even though I'm biased, I loved hearing a different viewpoint than most of the other players gave. Thanks to Gina and Jim for an interesting chat!

Who's Gina Kim Lipsky? I did a search at the wpba site but she's not there. She's damned cute and the wpba needs players like her, even though I have no idea how she plays. But that was a long interview so I just stared at her cuteness. Cute voice too.:o

Please refrain from lewd comments about Gina.

She is a wonderfull person, and Stevie is one of my best friends. Stevie has been one of my mentors for many years now and it really bothers me when someone speaks innapropriate about another mans wife.

I look forward to watching the interview, but for some respn it won't play on my iPhone.

Yeah, one would think the hyphenated last name would be a clue. Apparently not. She looks like such a nice Jewish girl. :P

Nice interview. It brought back memories, she wasn't kidding when she said that C players were actually giving her the 5 ball and she'd drill them and yet they'd still give her the same spot!

Great interview Gina! It is so nice to hear a different point of view about pool. Some of things she said are like an unspoken truths about the game and I am so proud that she is not afraid to say it as it is. That's one of the great quality in you Gina.

We can't touch you in that, Super. But you got ScraMble action on facebook. lol.

Happy holidays everyone!

- Steve

Actually you got it backwards, She totally destroyed me.

I NEVER ever had a chance. Like, not only did she pound me, but she pounded me into reading the dictionary afterward as i was traumatized. :D

I just like action, so regardless, i will ante up and take my beating, if only to one day win, and just GLOAT for like a month! lol

Although, i have to say in regards to the interview.
This is probably the interview that i identify the most with.

Not really "loving" the game.
Liking the action and competition.
Understanding that there is more to life.

Interview stuck a good chord.

Happy holidays.

I was there when Gina and Ellie Chang played Jeannie Seaver and Ga Young Kim. Ga Young was only in the country 6 months or so. It looked like it was going to be a route as GYK could barely speak but it came down to the wire and Gina and Ellie just squeaked it out. So watch out for Jeannie Seaver too.

For losing GYK had to wear her underwear and bra on the outside of her clothes and walk around the lobby of the Hotel. Ga Young wrapped a sweatshirt around her head so only her eyes were barely visible and went to it. She walked around and after a few minutes started hamming it up wiggling like a Model on the Catwalk. I forget everything but that is one thing that will be the exception.

Yeah, it's just funny when i think back to it. It always makes for a good laugh at myself cause here i was, looking for some pool action at a female regional event where i knew some of the girls playing, and while sitting there, talking to some of the girls and not finding anyone to play, she comes on over and is like..."HEEEEEYYYYYYY! Did you want to play some Scrabble?"
Like all innocent. And of course she wants to gamble, but she gambled at everything.

So i'm thinking to myself, i'm a smart guy, i have a good grasp on vocabulary, i know good scrabble strategy, this isn't my first time at the dance. How hard could it be?
And then i was like...plus is GINA! The "compete at everything" girl. But she's just too damn nice to actually be cutthroat at something like scrabble. This is gonna be like stealing!:D

You know, for being very observant, and acute, and keenly aware of hustles and street cons. I didn't see it coming AT ALL.

She asked me to play. Her game. Her bet. Her coincidentally and conveniently having her road scrabble kit with her, and the other girls whispering under their breath once we decided to the terms.

It was a total massacre.
And she just had this huge smile on her face the entire time, and it was the ho hum placing of the pieces and declarations of words that just tortured me. It was like...la dee da dee da...POW!! (insert massive points word) la dee daa deeee that was just brutal.

Even to this day when i'm at some party or some gathering, and someone wants to play scrabble, i always end up with a big smile on my face to the point where people are always like, "What the heck are you smiling about?"

I just laugh.

Yes, kinda

Is a Dan Barouty interview in the works?
