I was at Ernie's shop the other day, and he was just finishing the first of his 50th Anniversary cues. He's been building them for about 36 months. He made a few (five I think) of the fancier handled "wrapless" cues pictured, with 2 or 3 being snakewood rather than ebony. He was kind enough to allow me to take a few photos and also consented to let me "share" them. I expect these are the first photos of the cues made public.
I think most will agree with me that they are beyond stunning. I'll let the photos speak for themselves (although the cues are much more impressive in the flesh). I think they are among the most beautiful cues he's ever made aesthetically, and technically I think they are certainly the most complex in terms of materials, techniques, number of parts, etc. He's really showing what he's learned in 50 years of making custom cues with these anniversary cues.
I'm pretty sure the 5 "fancier" cues have all been sold but some number of the 50 ebony "wrapped" cues are available.
Enjoy the pics!
