ok guys, i'm ready to order a new cue but i'm kinda torn on which design i want. if you had around $10,000 to spend on a new gina, what would you choose? just so you know, i've already had a couple rasputins and i want to try something different this time... thanks in advance for your input :)

GGGGGGGGGG <- get it? 10G's

Branpureza-

For 10k Id fly to LA see Ernie in person and have the master create something totally new personally for me. If that kinda of cash I definitely wouldnt have him build me a variation of his standard model cues.

One of his most recent work a cue he did for last years ICCS was show-stopping and original. It was some Greco-Roman theme.

Tough call. I would be tempted to just give him free rein to make something original. I doubt you would be disappointed.

For 10k down I'd but some real estate and put it on the market in about 10 years and make some real jack, or daytrade stocks till you had your original 10k and 10k for a Gina custom!

For ten grand my suggestion would be,,,,,,,,,buy a Szamboti. Buy the right cue and it's guaranteed to appreciate as an investment but its also a world class playing tool. If you are dead set on the Gina,,,,,,you need to make it unique. I cannot believe people pay thousands of bucks from his for his "line cues",,,,,,,,,,Wyld78

As a cuemaker all I can say is god bless you. Cuemakers need all the big dollar cues we can sell to make a decient living.
As for the cue I too would invest in one of the old masters cues for that kind of money. I think in the long run they will still bring the best return on your money. If this is just to play with and you like his cues go for it, you only live once. Chris.

Chris, I don't understand how him spending 10k on a cue that has already been made helps cue makers. Unless you're refering to Barry and not Gus.
Personally I'd go with something with some ivory and lots of Brazilian rosewood. Definatley be a one of one for that kind of money. How many Excalibur sneakies would that be?:D

I meant buying a new high dollar cue really helps current cuemakers but, if I had that kind of money and was looking to invest it for a future profit I would buy one of the old masters cues. They are a proven apreciating investment. However if he really likes Ernie's cues and just wants a fancy cue to play with go for it.
I think there are current cuemakers whos cues will appreciate in value and continue to go up especially after they quit building cues but I don't think they will likely ever beat the bushka's and szam's in price for a comparable cue. Chris.

Call Ernie and see what is up!

Bill Grassley might have more than a few he could send your way. I know he has one in the 40-50k range.
You could always buy my fancy cue and save some $. But not that much really!
Ken at high end cues also might be able to help you. But check with The man at GQ first.
It always amazes me that so many buyers never consider calling the maker. I am fond of the 40th aniversery cue my self. SkipC also has a monster in the price range you are considering. He traded a Szam for it.
Good luck and happy hunting!
And Hay Phil nice avitar! thanks again!
Nick :)
