Are all pool gloves basically the same?
A few here on Amazon and I cant tell without trying them what's what.

LIST
Are there any red flags or "must haves" in a glove that I should look for, like in golf gloves you want cabretta leather and thin if you love feel or thicker if you play in cooler weather or want more cushioning, etc....

Try a wholesaler for Pool. I like the gloves with cut out finger tips and a leather palm rest. They are great and last a long time.

Sorry about that, it didnt like the long link... I think I fixed it... yes I'd definitely go with the cut out fingers but it I think only one of them are like that... my hand would sweat with all the other stuff on it.
 
Just a matter of what fits your hand well. I like Kamui and Molinari gloves the best, they breathe enough to not get sweaty and they fit on my hand nice and snugg.

At first I went through the cheap ones like bread. Later on I got bored of changing them every other week and invested a Kamui glove and played with it for nearly a year when I lost it. Been using Molinari since and it has worked well for me :rolleyes: Quality is worth the extra 10$ in my opinion as they are nicer to wear and more durable aswell :smile:
 
I tried several before settling on one. I decided that even though you can buy the cheap ones over and over again. I wanted one that lasted. So I got a Kamui glove. I prefer it above all the others I have tried. Even the Predator Gloves will start coming apart after a month. My Kamui is going on 8 months of use with no sign of wear.
 
I always buy the CueSoul 10 pack for $12 that is on your list. I love them! Each glove last me about 4 months or so when playing every single day. At $1.20 a pieces it would be good if they only lasted 1 month. I have bigger hands too. My sono also uses them and he has smaller hands and they last well over a year for him. The fit is great, nice and snug . I have tried other much more $$$ gloves and found them no bigger, in fact worse most of time. Hope this helps.
 
i've never used a glove before, but willing to see what it's like on the dark side. i ordered a kamui a couple days ago. i'm hoping it's what I've been missing all this time. I'm tired of the inconsistency of friction on the shaft during play. impossible to keep my hands and shaft clean enough while playing, and I don't like the prospect of using powder.
 
Is there really only one Kamui brand like this?

Right now I am playing about 3 hrs per week LOL, I wanna play more but time ya.... anyways, my priority would be fit and low friction. I have worn even nice golf gloves that have some stitchings in the wrong places and annoys the $#%& out of me. And obviously if the material doesnt promote near zero friction it defeats the whole purpose. I guess I am trying to say durability is probably not a factor for me yet, but the other 2 conditions are.

And to pay once a year or twice, $10-$20 will not make me sell my home so I am ok with that.

Do not give up on it. It took me awhile to the loss of feel for speed of the cue. But once I got over that. I love it. Wish I had done it years ago.

Agreed. I started wearing one one summer and it took a while, but after I use one always now. The stigma seems to be wearing off too.
 
Never tried one but the dumb glove stigma is definitely over, my area is about 50/50 using them! I will probably try it myself

I quoted a line from the Walking Dead at pool the other night during practice. Everyone thought I was serious. But during practice I lost to a friend and put my cue up on my shoulder and said, "That's wrong..., I will shut that shit down no exceptions." My friend I both laughed. But everyone else thought I was mad. Not everyone is a Walking Dead fan.

I never used a glove in 30 years of playing. I keep my shafts in very good shape so I never really need one. A few months ago I started playing at a friends house. His basement gets very hot and humid in the summer because it's a pretty new setup and he hasn't had a chance to install an air conditioner yet.

He said, "Hey, why not try this glove I have laying around?" I went out the next day and bought one. Now I wear one all the time. Absolute consistency from day to day.

I use a Sir Joseph, mainly because it's readily available in black. I find the colored ones distracting. The main choice will be whether you want your fingertips exposed or not.
 
What size?

Ok so I'm a normal size guy.....not small like a munchkin and not an ogre either.....so what size kamui glove is recommended( s,m,l) as I won't be able to try them on before hand.

I don't know about Kamui, but I buy my gloves in medium rather than large, and every other glove I own is large (winter gloves, motorcyle gloves etc). I'd rather have them fit tight than loose.

Kamui is a Japanese brand though and typically they size thing smaller so I am not sure.
