Pro’s use gloves but yeah they are just for an apa 4. small close minded people crack me up. gloves have been around for 30 years .. because they make Sense.

Edit to say sorry if that came off harsh but this is what I’m so tired of in pool. If you prefer no glove or wood shafts or it works for you just to wipe it down that’s cool . We are all different. But why do people in this game always have to put each other down just because we prefer something different or are more open to try new ideas or products. Is it your ego? Does it make you feel better about yourself putting other people down who like something you don’t? This never happens in golf. No one cares what equipment you use. If you can afford that new $600 driver or some new learning tool even if you’re terrible. Cool. Support the industry and the game. Whatever. No one seems to care. But a glove that is now been in use for almost 30 years is still something a low level player does even though you can turn on pro pool and the best players in the world use them.

American Pool is the only sport which eats its own young. It has to do with a combination of blind individualism, our capital competition society, and celebration of willful ignorance. It is also getting better because a lot of the leaded gasoline boomer high school drop out ass-hats are fading.

Pool in other counties is club-based and cooperative.

I’ve spent over 4K for a legendary maker.

To be honest I can li pick up any cue and I am capable of beating anyone in a room.

I choose it because it’s a damn good looking cue.

I use to bash glove wearers but I may have to get one because mezz put something in their shafts and it gets sticky.

The cue doesn’t make me play better but it makes feel great. The LD shafts have elevated my game and there’s an argument to be made it does make me better.

For years I’ve never played with a glove, I won t lie, seeing the pros use them made me want to get one. now I can’t imagine playing without one. To each Their own. Happy shooting!

We use these things as a tool and if we can get custom gloves then we probably would.

I ended up trying the one I just ordered, last night at pool. Took a couple shots to get used to it, but after that it wasn't any big deal to me. I'm just a hack, tho.

I still probably will only use it in tough room conditions, but it's there if needed.

Gloves can still get wet from sweat. I prefer cheap ones like the IBS gloves so they can be swapped out as needed.

Ive used gloves for about 6 years now and don’t feel any sweat at all. I would recommend getting a McDermott or a predator.

I‘ve never needed to carry more than two. By the time the second one is noticeably wet, the first is usually dry. Also, something I’ve noticed re: modern synthetic fiber/knit construction items: dirt/sweat isn’t absorbed, and doesn’t adhere. Regular washing will likely only accelerate deterioration.
BTW: I’m still using a very comfortable/quality pair purchased 25 yrs. ago (no longer available). Holes ARE starting to appear where the fingertips rub the tablecloth, but though almost never been washed, there is no detectable odor. I merely wash my hands before (and during) a session, and remove the gloves from the case to air-out overnight.

This is what my buddy does. He considers them throwaway items. I may do this for the rest of the summer. I don't want those filthy gloves back in my case.

The tables at my pool room are dirty. Players chalking over a table and they grind the chalk. I use Taom and I'm clean except my palm is filthy from the table.

I can only imagine what the gloves look like after a few hours of play. You guys really don't want to put it back in your case do you?

When I bought my first glove, I thought it would be an experiment I would try for a night and then throw away. I can't live without it now. I've always had sweaty hands, chalk and powder is messy and eventually has the opposite effect. I tried a bunch of different brands but eventually settled on Predator because I have big hands and their XXL gloves fit the best. I have a bunch of them and rotate them out often, but they've lasted several years with no sign of wear so far. I was them every so often in a mesh laundry bag on the gentile cycle.

That would explain why the game is more successful in the rest of the world. Your product is a perfect example. I used it and it wasn’t for me. I’m not going to shit on it though Because other people may love and it may help them. It seems the thought process in pool doesn’t allow many people to think like that.

When I was in Vegas years a go for I believe apa there was a women making custom gloves. 1000s of different patterns to choose from and she would measure your hand and make it to custom fit. My wife’s favorite color is neon green and she got one and still has it.

Yeah I’m not a germaPhobe lol it’s just chalk. I hand wash it once a week. The only thing that ever bothered me was when they smell like smoke but with most bars non smoking that doesn’t really happen anymore.

if that's a distraction i bet the black color would be an even bigger distraction especially if you aim low. only glove that's worked for me was sir joseph's skin colored glove but eventually i couldn't stand not feeling the cloth and rail. +1 for the unglove

Just wondering what the latest consensus is on the bestest, thinest, not really there glove.

I ask because the pool room I play at has relocated next to a lake and there's a high level humidity. Normally, I've always been able to go "bare back" but current circumstances have me reconsidering.

A few years ago I tried a Molinaria and hated it. Don't care about getting a dozen for $2... just want the best. What sayz you?

I’ve been wearing a glove since the late 80’s, starting with the Blakeman glove. I only wore it during the summer in New England when they didnt have air conditioning in the bars or pool halls.

I own so many glove brands (including the unglove) as you can imagine, and just about every case has a glove stashed in there. I don’t know of one that is the least noticeable physically. My Action glove by far is the cheapest, and it’s the thinnest. But the closure is cheap. But honestly, I put on whatever glove is in that case if I need it. I dont ever have to get used to it. I’m in Florida, and playing with a glove is a lot better at times. Lots of the players down here use them.

My advice is to pick one and go. It should have cutoff finger tips, a non-slip palm, and something tighten up at the wrist. Dont get one that the logo is placed right where the stick slides. Try an Action glove from amazon for $15.

An interesting collection of gloves. No, these arent all of them, but they represent a good history. The first one from the top left is a Blakeman glove, which was just stretchy Spandex-like mateial. Good but not great. But I liked it more than Sir Joseph, which was the only other glove manufacturer back then late 1980’s. I cut the tips off the fingers bexause they were too constraining. Most of th modern gloves have the tips cut off. I did not come up with the idea.

After that in order:

SLIX - the gold standard of which all modern gloves have ripped off the design. I think this was the best glove, but they went out or business. Full palm and finger grip material, wrist strap, finger tips cut off.

Action - best bang for the buck. And it might have cost a buck. The wrist strap isnt great.

Handerpants - to stop someone else from telling me about them like it’s the first time hearing the joke.

Molinari - pretty much the same as Predator. Between these two companies, I have four of these gloves. One of them fell apart quickly, so I ended up shelving them.

Snapshot - glove felt great but the wrist strap is too long

Moori - in my opinion, one of the best gloves out there today.

3 Second - also one of the best out there. The wrist strap leaves a more opened top of the wrist, so it feels less constrained than the Moori. That could be a selling point for a lot of people. Careful on sizing. I usually wear a medium or large or M/L. I had to get an XL.

I like the unglove, as it removes the high failure part of the glove, the palm. Even the reinforced ones I've tried wore out the same way.

I have tried these, and quickly got rid of them. They didn't stay in place and didn't cover enough of my hand. For me, a waste of money. A lot of the reason gloves tear is users buy them too small. I have larger hands a buy 2xl.
