Glue relief on caped break fiber ferrule ..

Usually we drill a hole on the top for regular ferrules which is capped. I'm in the process of experimenting with some different designs on a break shaft with the typical "Sledgehammer" look. Of course drilling in this would not be the way of doing things:D

I'm however not 100% sure how to make the glue relief on this. Do we make a small "grove" following the shaft (in the wood) or de we do this in stead on the fiber break tip?

Would just make sure before I have a go.

I make them with a glue relief hole the same as I do with all capped ferrules however once the ferrule is in place I fill the hole with leather shavings from tip installations. After the cue has it a couple of balls all signs of any hole are gone.
